ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT BATCH
The Central Government of India has set a goal of increasing the share of renewable energy from 6.9% to 15% in the
next five years. With such targets set for the country, the need of the hour is professionals who can guide organizations
and take them closer to that target. The Energy & Environment program introduces and elaborates topics such as
Renewable Sources of Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Policies & Regulations among others, thus giving the
students, many of whom come from similar backgrounds, an edge over students from the regular MBA.
Climate change & Sustainability are among the top priorities of most organizations today and sustainability is often
called the New TQM. With such an impact on today’s business environment, SIIB has inculcated an in-depth course
structure on the lines of Business Sustainability and Corporate Governance which is much appreciated by the recruiters
who come to the institute looking for sustainability professionals. Adding to that, training programs such as GRI, G4
Reporting and ISO 50001 & ISO 14001, the course is tailor-made for students so that they are more than prepared to
enter the industry with a bang.
The MBA - Energy & Environment program may be a niche one, but the concerns that led to its inception are very much
mainstream and will continue to have importance in the years to come. This program by SIIB has been created with the
foresight to address the challenges and continues to groom professionals who are making their mark in the industry
even today.
“The Energy & Environment program prepares the students to build a career wherein they will be addressing the energy
51 needs of a growing economy while also tackling global pressing issues like climate change and sustainability.”
