SUBJECT: IR02 - Deleting Work Centers

There are times when a work center will no longer be used and should be deleted. This process
shows how to delete a work center. In some circumstances it is not possible to delete the work
center. In those cases when you cannot delete a work center but want to prevent people from
using the work center you can mark the work center for deletion. (A “reorganization run” will
eventually remove the work center.)

3. Enter the 4-digit plant code and the work center that needs to be updated.

3. From the work center Basic Data screen: Work center > Delete. When asked if you want

to delete the work center select .

4. If the work center can be deleted it will be, and you are done with this process. However, if
the work center is still being used you will get the message:
In this case, move to step 5.

If you cannot “Delete” the work center:


5. From the work center Basic Data screen: Extras > Status > Deletion flag. Then SAVE
the work center.

6. The work center has now been “marked for deletion” and cannot be used. To “unmark”
just repeat Step 5.

You can check the status of the Deletion Flag from the Basic Data screen: Extras >
Administrative data. Toward the bottom of the screen you will see a check indicating that the
Deletion Flag has been set.
