ENGLISH 3 – PROJECT
ACADEMIC INTERVIEW
1. Tell me some personal information about yourself (full name, age,
nationality, marital status, family, studies, phone number, and e-mail
address).
My name is Joseph Manuel Pacheco Paco. I’m thirty-three years old. I’m Peruvian,
I’m married and I have a daughter. I’m studying mining engineering at UTP, but I
studied dentistry, my cellphone number is 959656235 and my e-mail address is
[email protected].
2. What do you like doing in this quarantine?
I usually like watching movies on TV; listen to music like pop, rock, salsa,
instrumental, etc; buy things on sale on Ebay or Amazon, and prepare some dishes
that I can see in youtube.
3. Describe your house (remember to use there is, there are and
prepositions).
I think my house is big, there are a lot rooms in my house. There are 5
bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 2 dining rooms and 1 laundry, besides We
have one pet, its name is Chimoc, It’s a Peruvian dog.
4. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert person? Why?
I think I’m an introvert person because I’m not so talkative with people that I
don’t know and sometimes I’m a little shy. I need some time to start a
friendship and have confidence with him or her.
5. What do you usually do after your online sessions?
I often go to the bathroom and walk for a couple of minutes, or I go to have
dinner with my family, after that I take a rest for a half an hour.
6. What was your school like?
It was a big school, there is a coliseum, a stadium, two labs. There are many
classrooms, and some playgrounds for children. There is a lot of space for
play and some refreshment stands.
7. What do you study? Why did you choose it?
I’m studying mining engineering. I chose it because it’s a good option to work
in a big or medium company, also you can earn good money, have medical
insurance and enjoy for a comfort life.
8. What are your career plans?
Well, I’d like to finish my career in five years, and get some work experience
in some company here in Arequipa or in another city, learn Russian to apply
for a scholarship.
9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I’ll be working in a big company, maybe like chief in my work area,
planning some project to improve earnings. Also get a new car or maybe
some travel to another country.
10. How do you deal with virtual lessons?
Well at first I had some problems to connect and enter, also I forgot to enter to
my lesson and I connected 30 minutes later, after that it was easier, but now I
have problem with some difficult themes.
11. What would be the biggest changes in your life after Covid - 19?
First of all, I can’t go out to eat in a restaurant, also I can’t go to the cinema or
disco. Besides I can’t go to the swimming pool or breath in a public place.
12. What are you going to miss from university? Why?
I’m missing see my friends, share time with them. Usually we go out to eat to
some place or drink some drinks. Also go to the library and go to labs to
practice exercises or lessons with them.
13. Tell me about a member of your family
My father is an engineer. He is geologist. He works in Antamina. He is a
superintendent and has a lot work because he supervises many employees,
besides he traveled a lot.
14. When was the last time you were sad? What happened?
It was around two months ago, well I have some problems with a deal that I
did because It was delayed for covid. Also I lost some money for that problem.
I was sad for this.
15. How do you think university is going to benefit your future?
I think I’m going to better my opportunities because the university It’s well recognized
in Peru. I’m going to have a degree like mining engineering and It’s important to
apply a job.
