GAN vs VAE for Handwritten Digits

This document outlines a project plan to compare the performance of generative adversarial networks (GANs) and variational autoencoders (VAEs) for generating MNIST handwritten digits. The plan includes an initial literature review on GANs and VAEs, preparing the MNIST dataset, using Python with libraries like Keras and TensorFlow, and training models on an Nvidia GPU. The goal is to do a comparative analysis of GAN and VAE for handwritten digit generation.
