BIBLE SUNDAY – NOVEMBER 22 – Please send your
signature or a note
Our 1st and 6th grade children will be receiving Bibles on November
22nd. It has become the tradition for church members to sign the Bibles
as a blessing. This year your blessing needs to come in the form of a
hand-written note or email. Please drop off or send a simple note
to Cheryl Moles using the church address or
[email protected] for each
recipient signed by each member of your household – or send separate
notes from each person if you choose. The children and youth always
love signing their friends’ Bibles so please be sure that they get this op-

ble. These notes will be collected and given to the children with their
Bible. Our 1st graders are: Charlie Foree, Annie Templeton, Enzo
Stewardship Sunday 2 Woodruff and Mia Woodruff. The 6th grade students are: Henry Conner,
Matthew 25/All Mark Nauman (Kristi McCune’s son), Danny Rader, and Christopher

Stewardship Campaign Concludes with Pledge Sunday 11/8
Yes, even 2020 has a stewardship campaign! In fact, our prayerful planning for next year (yes,
2020 will eventually end!) may never have been more important. As Fred Rubey reported to
the congregation last Sunday, by the grace of God Central has maintained a solid financial posi-
tion even in this difficult year. This is a testimony to our faithfulness, and it is marvelous to be-
hold.
In that Spirit, we ask every member and friend of our wonderful congregation to consider
pledging to support our ministry in 2021. Soon you will receive a pledge card in the
mail. Please discuss it with any family members you may have in your household. Pray about
it. Consider whether--if you have the ability--you might increase your giving. Then fill out
that card and return it. You can use the provided envelope or place it in the offering plate
here at church.
God has blessed Central with a rich tradition and a proud history of ministry. A core of new,
young leaders is emerging on session and elsewhere, men and women prepared to carry on this
legacy. We praise God for it all. We ask that you join in our praises by joining in this cam-
paign. Thank you.
All Saints Worship this Sunday
The Worship Commission has determined that observing our tradition of honoring the Saints
who now from their labors rest may continue in this Year of the Virus. We will process and
pray as in prior years. Please join us, whether in person, or through our Facebook live stream
(in the Central Presbyterian Church Facebook group), or by watching our produced recording
as found on YouTube.
Becoming a Matthew 25 Church
The Presbyterian Church (USA) offers its congregations the opportunity to declare themselves
Matthew 25 churches. (This chapter in the Gospel contains Jesus' parable that concludes with
the words, "I tell you, as you have done it for one of the least, so you have done it for
me.") The Mission Committee has decided to recommend that we join in this movement, but
we are not completely certain what this would mean for Central Presbyterian. So it has decid-
ed to form a temporary sub-committee to hash it out.
If you would be willing to join in this process of discernment, please contact Andrew Conner,
chair of Mission. It would likely mean attending 2 or 3 meetings, virtually if that is better for
you.

NO HANGING OF THE GREENS – BUT STILL CELEBRATING JESUS!
After much consideration, the Christian Nurture Commission has decided that it is best to
NOT hold the traditional Hanging of the Greens. The Sanctuary will be decorated by individ-
uals and families coming at separate times before November 29. There are limited jobs to
do but if you would like to help please contact Cheryl Moles. Please see a separate notice of
our new “giving tree” to be created.
Sunday Morning Childcare is now available each w eek that w e meet in the church
building for children age 3 years and younger. Our attendants are on duty from 10:15 to
the end of the service. They do a health check when they arrive. Parents need to sign a
form on the first day of returning stating that you understand our health guidelines and
that it is best for children showing any symptoms of illness (other than allergies) to not at-
tend. Please use the north entrance (Larry Bird St.) door to leave your child in room 101
and the back stairway to the sanctuary. Sanitation procedures are in place for the room
and toys.
Christmas Pageant – pandemic style. The Christmas Story will come to you by recording
which means that you can watch it anytime and multiple times.
At home Sunday School lessons are available on the Church Family at Central Presbyterian
Church Facebook Group or by email.
ST. NICHOLAS DAY GIVING EVENT
DECEMBER 6 11:30 am if attending in-person worship;
5:00 – 6:00 pm drive up drop off
Our cross used for Good Friday and Easter is transforming to a Christmas giving tree!
In the spirit of the legend of St. Nicholas and giving to others, we will collect winter scarves, hats,
gloves and socks for adults and children. These will be hung on our “tree” so that anyone in the
community that needs warm items can take them.
To donate, purchase or make one or more items. Place each in a plastic bag (food storage
zip closed; these will be available if needed) and brought to the church on December 6 either dur-
ing the morning worship or dropped off between 5:00 and 6:00 pm by driving through the
southside parking lot. In return, you will receive a St. Nicholas day treat!

Q&A from I&S Committee
Why have I been asked to turn in a pledge card?
At the end of each year our congregation looks forward to the next year by preparing a budget.
Pledge cards allow us to anticipate income for the coming year. With an accurate idea on income
we can appropriate money towards projects, committees, expenses and raises for staff. It is the in-
tent of I&S that we only budget expenses that we have pledges and other reliable forms of income to
cover.
When & where should I turn my pledge card in?
You will be receiving a pledge card by mail. You have multiple choices on how to return it. You may
bring it to church on Pledge Sunday November 8th, you may mail it in using the self-addressed
stamped envelope provided or you may call the church office (812-232-5049) and give it to Sarah
Kelsheimer over the phone.
Whatever method you choose we ask that you turn it in by Friday November 13th.
Will my pledge be kept private?
Yes. Only the church financial secretary will see your pledge. It will not be shared with other mem-
bers of staff or members of the congregation.

V o lu me X XX XX I V,
Back in 2009, Amanda Davis suggested that
we start a Prayer Group. We had several
young mothers that she felt could benefit
from a support group, as well as others of
us. She asked if I would be willing to lead
it. I felt very honored to be asked, and we began. We had several young Moms who came; therefore
we needed a sitter for the children in the family. Many of the women had tiny babies, and they stayed
with their moms. I would have loved to “frozen in time” these days. I looked around the table one
time and got to see 3 nursing babies.
What was really wonderful was that some of the older women had been where these women were
in raising children and gave wise advice.
In those early days, we took turns preparing lunch. We gave our prayer requests, and then we
prayed. We discussed how God was meeting us, and God got the glory (Sinwon will be singing that
beautiful hymn Sunday)
As time went on, many of the women began to work full time, and were unable to attend. Yet, we
kept meeting. There are no more meals, but we still pray for one another and those in our church
that have concerns.
With the advent of COVID, we developed a way to meet. We walk. Eileen Whalen, Sinwon Racop,
Linda Riggins, and I walk. We meet at Woodgate subdivision .
(Where Eileen and I live) We praise God, set off, and discuss how we can pray for those in our
church and for one another.
We also have one other walker. Her name is Ashley Bryan. She was our sitter for the children in
the beginning years. We have adopted her. We have the privilege of praying for her and her family
and her church. Her husband is Pastor of Cornerstone Bible church.
Many thanks go to Amanda Davis. I hope that there will always be a Prayer Group at our church.

Youth News — Timothy Ghogle
I want to let you all know how proud and humbled I am of our youth! They love their
youth nights very much!! They love their youth group friends, they love to share their
stories, they love having fun and spending time at their youth nights, they love learning
about great leaders of faith in the bible, and most importantly they love God. Their
passion, excitement, and enthusiasm to share God's love with others were displayed
beautifully at our community mission night yesterday. We met at Deming Elementary to
pray over teachers, students, and the school, and they chalked touching messages of
love and support! I see leaders emerging!
Our community is blessed to have youth such as ours! They are a blessing to our church-
es and families! Here are some highlights from yesterday's community mission night.
