FABRIC REQUIREMENTS AND CUTTING GUIDE:

1 Aunt Grace Fat Eighth Pack


Cut a total of 412 squares, 2 ½” x 2 ½” (270 for 9-patch blocks; 142 for snowball blocks – draw a diagonal line on the wrong side
of these squares)

Marshmallow – 2 ½ yards (0733)


Cut 2 strips, 2 ½” x 60” length of fabric (border)
Cut 2 strips, 2 ½” x 55 ½” length of fabric (border)
Cut 6 squares, 9 ¾” x 9 ¾” – cut twice diagonally (setting triangles)
Cut 2 squares, 5 1/8” x 5 1/8” – cut once diagonally (corner triangles)
Cut 42 squares, 6 ½” x 6 ½” (snowball blocks)

1930’s Red – ¾ yard (0020)


249” of a continuous 2 ¼” strip (binding)
Cut 26 squares, 2 ½” – draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each (22 of the snowball blocks)

All seams are sewn right sides together with a ¼” seam allowance unless otherwise specified

Making the Nine-Patch Blocks: 6 ½” x 6 ½” (unfinished)

Stitch 9 assorted 2 ½” print squares together pressing towards the arrows. Make 30 of these blocks using a variety of the 2 ½”
print squares for each block.

Making the Snowball Blocks: 6 ½” x 6 ½” (unfinished)

1. Lay a 2 ½” assorted print square onto each corner of a 6 ½” cream square, noting orientation of the drawn line.
Stitch on the drawn line, trim and press to the print. Make 20 Snowball Block A.

2. Repeat step 1 placing a 2 ½” red square onto the top left corner of the block. Make 18 Snowball Block B. Repeat, placing
a 2 ½” red square onto the top left and top right corners. Make 4 Snowball Block C.

5. Stitch a 2 ½” x 60 ½” cream border strip to each side of the quilt, pressing to the border. Stitch a 2 ½” x 55 ½” cream
border to the top and bottom of the quilt.
6. Quilt as desired and bind with the 2 ¼” red binding strip.
