type of person wants under the hood. With up to 605 horsepower, this engine shows
up to work looking for a challenge while never taking a day off. Whether you’re pulling
a full load of logs up a muddy incline, driving a concrete mixer over unpaved terrain or
operating an emergency vehicle, the X15 Productivity Series is up to the task.
DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE HEAVY LIFTING.
If you run concrete mixers, refuse vehicles, larger dump trucks or any other heavy
application with severe duty cycles, Cummins new X15 Productivity Series ratings
have the torque, responsiveness and rugged durability that you demand. The X15
Productivity Series ratings offer a higher output capacity (up to 605 hp with 2050 lb-ft
of peak torque) than any other engine in the heavy-duty market. More important, the
component set delivers superior responsiveness to throttle input – engineering-speak
for plenty of muscle to get you rolling up to speed with a full load on hilly terrain.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
2020 X15 Productivity Series ratings from 430-500 horsepower share common
hardware with the X15 Efficiency Series ratings. The higher output ratings from
565-605 hp share higher-capacity components from the X15 Performance
Series ratings.
This dual engineering strategy ensures that the X15 Productivity Series has the output
required to meet power demands while optimizing fuel economy and operating costs.
Engine speeds (rpm) are optimized to provide additional flexibility in applications that
demand maximum productivity.
The X15 Productivity Series ratings that are 500 horsepower and below provide the
operator with similar fuel economy as the X15 Efficiency Series when operating in
like-for-like applications but can vary slightly depending on vehicle configuration or
shifting differences. New software gives you the flexibility you need for enhanced
drivability and performance to get up to speed faster. The ratings above 500
horsepower achieve the same peak torque as the X15 Performance Series ratings,
while, providing an extended horsepower and engine speed range – which keeps you
in the power-band of the engine when you need it most and up to 605 horsepower,
with industry leading engine brakes.
SMALL IMPROVEMENTS. BIG DIFFERENCE.
The X15 Productivity Series ratings with shared Efficiency Series hardware feature a
new main cap, a larger thrust bearing and an enhanced crank forging and machining
for improved performance, reliability and durability. A modified piston design with a
higher compression ratio helps improve power cylinder performance.

Cummins X15 engines have some of the longest maintenance intervals in the
transportation industry. Our fully-serviceable Single Module™ aftertreatment system
has built-in sensors that tell you when the DPF finally needs to be changed – so you
get every single mile you can out of it.
