Before starting the registration process, make sure you have received all the necessary information
about the program, college services and prices for your program of interest.
As an international student, you must obtain the following documents to begin your program:
Valid Certificat d’Acceptation du Québec (CAQ)
Valid Study Permit
Health and hospitalization insurance (Issued by Herzing College)
For D.V.S./D.E.P. programs only - One of the following 3 options is required.
1. Recognition of prior learning Annex 5 - Institutions outside of Canada whose academic
records are recognized for equivalency or for admission to vocational training.
Evaluation is done by Herzing College. You must send us your latest transcripts and
diploma with your application.

2. Comparative evaluation of studies done outside Québec for DVS/D.E.P. programs.

STEP 1. SUBMIT DOCUMENTS
The first step that an international student must take in order to be admitted to Herzing College in
Montreal is to submit the following documents to proceed with the verification of your academic level in
Quebec:
Copy of the original certificate or birth certificate and official translation into French or English.
Copy of latest diploma (s) and transcript (s) of secondary and post-secondary level education.
Letter stating the program of interest, start of course, electronic and postal address.
Copy of passport

STEP 2. ENTRY ASSESSMENT
Write and pass the entrance assessment evaluation unless you provide us with proof of English
skills by providing us with a TOEFL/IELTS score. Minimum score required would be 547 on the
written (paper) or 210 on the computer based version (CBT) and 78 on the internet based
version (IBT). However, if your High School (or equivalent) was instructed in English, a TOEFL
score would not be required. For the IELTS, we require a minimum score of 6.5 overall bands
for AEC programs and 5.0 for DEP programs. Exceptions are considered, but not guaranteed, for
those students who attended a non-English speaking high school, but attended a post-
secondary educational facility instructed in English.
N.B. Please note that for all students enrolled in a French program (in Quebec), the language
proficiency level required is as follows:
DEP programs: B1 level
AEC programs: B2 level
STEP 3. REGISTRATION FEES
Once we informed you that the evaluation of your documents is complete and you qualify for the
program selected, the second step is to make your payment for the non-refundable registration fee of
$275 Canadian. (Valid for one full year)

The registration fee is included in the total cost of the training. Once paid, the registration fee will be
deducted from the total cost of the training. Once your student visa and all other documents required
for your program have been approved, there will be an administrative fee in addition to tuition fees, due
at the beginning of the session, with the first payment of tuition. The remaining amount of tuition is
divided into equal payments to be issued before or at the beginning of each session. Tuition fees include
the use of books, equipment, registration fees, career development assistance service for obtaining
internship and taxes.
Please note that during registration, you will be placed on a waiting list until you have submitted a valid
copy of your CAQ, study permit and if applicable the copy of the Comparative Evaluation for Studies
done outside Québec.
STEP 4. APPLICATION FOR PERMIT REQUIRED:
Once the registration fee is received, Herzing College will send the student acceptance letters necessary
for the application of immigration documents. You must have a letter of acceptance for the application
of each of the following licenses:

Note that the response time between Quebec Immigration and Immigration Canada can vary greatly.
Please allow a minimum of four (4) month period prior to the start of your program to obtain your CAQ
and a study permit.
DUE TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER START DATE
In case of a delay to receive the CAQ or study permit, we can transfer the student to the next session.
Transfer Cost: $ 250 (Canadian) and not refundable.
Please note that during registration, you will be placed on a waiting list until you have submitted a valid
copy of your CAQ, study permit and if applicable the copy of the Comparative Evaluation for Studies
done outside Québec.
STEP 5. MEDICAL INSURANCE
As an international student, you must have valid health or medical insurance during your studies in
Canada. Not having valid insurance can cause serious problems with Immigration Quebec and
Immigration Canada. Your health insurance will be provided by a Herzing College insurance partner and
is included in the administrative fee.
ONCE ARRIVED IN CANADA
Once you arrive in Montreal, you must meet with your admissions counselor who will ensure that your
student record is completed and you have all the necessary documents in order to begin training.
