PROBLEM ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING

TASK PROCESSES IN GROUPS AND TEAMS

HANNAH MAE D. SARZA BSBA MICROFINANCE II March 05,2020

The topic that I understand most is that, decision making is the process of making a choice between

a numbers of options and committing to a future course of actions. And there are steps that we must follow

to make our decisions efficiently. First was identifying the problem, by analysing and constructing a clear

picture of it. Second was gathering relevant information that will support the given problem and for us to

make reasonable judgements. Third was identifying the alternatives or solutions for the problem, and we

should not focused only on one alternative but rather we should explore different solutions for the problem.

Fourth was weighing the evidences of each alternatives. Fifth was choosing the best alternative, make sure

that in choosing alternatives we should not be biased. Sixth was taking action or implementing the chosen

alternative. And the last step was reviewing the decision made and its consequences, we should assess if

the decision that we made was good or bad.

The next topic that I’ve understand is that, there are factors that affects decision making. One is

personal factors, it can be personal demographics that includes our gender, education, occupation and

economic position. And it can also be personal psychographics that includes lifestyle, attitudes, self-

concept, status and beliefs. Another was cultural factors that includes our religion, traditions, and social

behaviour and values. Another was social factors, this is on how we interact with others that includes our

family, peers, colleagues and others. Another was information, the way we make decisions matter on how

reliable, authentic and adequate the information that we get. And last was psychological factors, that

includes our motivations, the things that we believe and we have faith and our experiences.
