Abortion due to birth defects; pro or anti

Life is beautiful but not always easy, it has problems, too, and the challenge lies in facing
them with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, which makes the pain bearable, during
trying times, by providing hope. But sometimes, people who ‘re given the chance to bring out another
life on earth cuts out the limited chance and abortion was the only thing people try to do when things
are rough and not into it's order. But why is that so? Why do people act this way even though they are
aware that it's a sin to kill someone else's life? But then, we doesn't own their minds and behaviours in
doing such.

Abortion is a way of stopping or ending the fetus' life. If I were to answer if I am pro or
against the abortion due to birth defects, well then I am against of it. With or without defects, they
still have the right to be brought out of the mother's womb. God gave those chances in life or he gave
those fetus because he knows that the parents are capable of giving them their needs. Not the material
needs, but the needs of care and love from the people outside the womb of the mother.

I know that some would not agree on me because they doesn't want the fetus to be born out
with sickness and disabilities; with what ifs and doubts. And what I am thinking now, the reason why
they're ending the life of a fetus after knowing that he or she has defect is that, they don't want to
show them to the world because they are not normal like the others and they have defects, so why
show them up to others? I find that reason lame. That fetus is your child, you should be proud and
embrace them wholeheartedly.

There's a lot of married couples praying for a baby or praying for a miracle because they're
not capable of having at least one, but there's the other soon to be parents but they just ignored the
chance and just go on with abortion. How cruel this life could be?

And one of the reasons why I am against the abortion is that, I have encountered a lot of
parents handling their child with disabilities or defects and there's no doubt that I've seen tender
loving care from them. And honestly speaking, my mother gave birth to my brother with Trisomy 21
or Down Syndrome and Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and thanks to the Lord, after his close heart
surgery on his 8 month, he is now as healthy as the normal kids. And what I am pointing out is that,
we all have to accept the reality because life is not a fairy tail that everything should be perfect and
just.

Tender loving care (TLC) plays an important role to every children with disabilities. Earlier
discovery of birth defects before giving birth to a child means getting ready physically, mentally,
emotionally and spiritually and also getting ready with every possibilities in life. Give the child the
chance he deserve, because children with disabilities are not a form of disgrace, instead it's a blessing
from God. Learn to accept things without what if's and doubts, you will never know what this children
can do in your life.
