WHY MBA?
Sir, being in the technical background if, after graduation, I join any organisation then I will
able to contribute only on the technical part. But I want to widen my area of contribution to
the company. I aspire to work in high-level management in the company where decision
making and risk taking is more complex and challenging. But for this, I need to understand
and acquire knowledge about functions and interdependencies of verticals like finance,
marketing, human resource and operations. MBA will provide me with business theories,
principles and practices followed across the globe through case studies, which will help me
to be a better decision maker, a risk taker, a better team builder which will ultimately make
me capable to contribute for the growth of the company, make higher profits, more efficient
making my company a globally vibrant competitive company. Also Sir I have a vision, a vision
of a strong developed nation, and I believe MBA is a major turning point for me to achieve
my vision.
TELL ABOUT YOURSELF?
I got introduced to initial managerial skills in school where I was a part of the event
management committee where my role was to communicate the information and manage
event related requirements. In college, where I was a part of the Kartavya NGO, I was a
incharge of the logistics team.
Being bought up in Assam where I was always surrounded by people coming from different
states and having different cultures made me an adaptable person. Sir I am a hardworking
and determined person and I believe this is all because of my father Mr. Anil Jain, who is a
businessman and owns a property in Guwahati. My mother Mrs. Renu Jain has always
taught me to be a down-to-earth person. I have a flamboyant personality. I believe every
mistake made is an opportunity to learn. Sir I have a strong sense of purpose in life, purpose
to bring positive change in as many lives as I can and bring smile to millions of faces.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE COMING 5 YEARS?
5 years from now I see myself as a part of the junior management team in a reputed
national or international MNC where I implement my managerial skills and make myself
familiar and comfortable with business environment so that I can be the part of mid level
and higher management in the coming years.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN COMING 10 YEARS?
10 years down the line I see myself as a part of higher management team of a multinational
organization where I can use my learned skills and experience to carry out responsibilities
which involves complex decision making and risk taking so that I contribute to the growth of
the company.
Strengths
0My greatest strength is that I don't give up easily. I believe that only in this way I can hope
to achieve my goals. I am a hardworking person who has a never-say-die attitude. I try to
find out the reason for the problem before looking for a solution. I have the ability to cope
with failures and I try to learn from my mistakes. I am a team player and work well with
others.
Sir since childhood I have been travelling different places so it’s easy for me to get and
adjust according to the surroundings.
Weakness
My weakness is that I do not take my meals timely. This happens more when I get myself
too much indulged in a work skipping my meals. Also, I am afraid to speak in public because
during my school days I never took an opportunity to speak in front of a crowd as I feared
that everyone would laugh at me.
Mention what approaches you took to overcome your weaknesses
Sir I have started to make sure that I take meals regularly and put reminders sometimes if
necessary. And as for the other part, during my college days I grabbed every opportunity
whenever I got one to speak in public and I think that slowly my this weakness is going
away.
Mention situations where you have used your strengths
Sir when I was in class 10th nobody ever expected me to be one of the toppers of the school
but sir my father made me understand the importance of boards and how I would be
evaluated at different phases of life by my board's scores and I was strongly determined and
scored highest percentage till then I had ever scored. Also sir I had a bad start in the college
and could not score well but I took it as a challenge and since then scored better than the
previous semesters.
Why should we take you
Sir, I am an honest and sincere person. I can assure u that I will work hard and will do full
justice to my education. I understand that my coming 50 years depends on these two years,
sir if given opportunity I will be indebted to you all my life and I assure you that you will be
proud of me while handling me the degree.
Sir also I am always open to learn new things and understand the importance of sharing
diversity with peers. Also sir I aspire to attain knowledge and give back to society by
contributing towards education and employment to the needy and taking them to the level
where they themselves can be helping hand to others and contribute towards the growth of
nation.
What are your hobbies/interests? Why didn’t you pursue them professionally ?
Sir my interest is in cricket. Also sir I like travelling and exploring new places. Sir my focus
was always more towards education and preferred to keep my interests as hobbies.
Do you believe that only an MBA can do managerial/administrative work? Are
engineers not capable enough to do it?
Sir If we look in wider prospective all of us have been in a managerial situation at some
point of time. Even housewives who works without salary is a great manager managing so
many lives along with finance. Sir but the thing which is common is that managerial sense
comes with experience, even in the case of engineers and today in such rigorous business
scenarios companies are short of time and resources to spend on a non manager to give her
experience and take her to that position when already skilled resources are available. rather
its better to learn through MBA where pedagogy includes theory and practical including
worldwide live projects which will help to attain knowledge exponentially and serve the
industry and nation. Also through this I will be able to be a part of higher management in
sooner which will give larger span of time to serve the company being in the higher level.
