Spoken Word Evaluation Guide

The rubric evaluates spoken word poetry performances across several categories including poem topic/theme, delivery, body language, technical aspects, and time. A top score in each category demonstrates a clear and focused topic that connects with the audience, effective presentation skills like eye contact and vocal projection, engaging facial expressions and movements, well-executed video elements within the required time limit. Lower scores are given for vague, confusing, or off-topic poems as well as presentations with inconsistent delivery, minimal body language, technical issues, or running over/under time.
