TYPE OF TASK: Writing an online job profile
AUDIENCE: Human resources team
PURPOSE: Providing personal information for a job position and describing physical appearance.
PROMPT: You just graduated from university and you are unemployed. You start looking for a job and decide
to send your CV to a very well-known company. To do so, you have to complete a job profile on the company
webpage previous to the interview. In the text you need to include the following aspects:
1. Include: name, home address, phone number, Email address, age, nationality, current studies and position
you want to apply for, the place of living, marital status and languages you speak or any other skill you
have, and other courses or studies you have.
2. Provide a short description of your physical appearance.
3. Write 80 to 100 words and follow the format below. Use complete sentences.

describing physical appearances; communicate and send
messages so the audience is left with no questions.
Composing (organization): produce a cohesive text
(relationship among the parts of the text) and show evidence
of a coherent text (an appropriate organization within the
sentences that are according to the level).
Vocabulary (lexicon): use vocabulary related to personal
information (name, age, nationality, current studies, job,
phone number, etc.), physical appearances (adjectives,
characteristics); and use a variety of words to make writing
interesting.
Structure (syntax): produce the simple present tense,
prepositions, articles and connector when providing personal
information and describing physical appearance and use
other sentence structures.
Mechanics: make proper use of capitalization, punctuation
and spelling to avoid interferences with the communicative
meaning of the task.
