STORY ONE (1) – NATURE STORY
THE FIRST FLOOD (Gen 1: 6-10, 6: 8-22, 7: 1- 24, 8:1-22, 9: 1-29)
When God created the Heaven and the Earth, He also created water which He divided; water from the
sky and water below the sky. He then gathered water below the sky in one place and the dry land
appeared. This was when the seas and land were created.
After the creation of the heaven and the earth, there was no such thing as the flood where you see
heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and thunder storms. The land was watered with water from the
underneath the ground and from flowing rivers.
When Adam and Eve sinned, everything changed. What was a peaceful, harmonious, enjoyable and
lovely world became a world of killing, fighting, hatred, disobedience, drinking & partying and you name
it. The world was so sinful that God thought that something must be done to rid the world of this very
sinful nature.
It was in the time of a man called Noah that God decided to deal with the sinful world. So what did you
think He decided to do? ......Yes He decided to destroy the earth with flood.
Noah was a man who was upright with God. He was a righteous and faithful man who keep God’s Ten
Commandments and honored God in all the things he did.
One day God told him to build a big ship called the Ark. God told him to build this Ark right up on the
mountain. It took him 120 years to build this Ark at the same time preaching to the people to repent
because God was planning to destroy the earth with flood. The people did not believe him because the
Ark was built right up on the mountain and also in that time there was no such thing as the flood.
After the Ark was completed, God brought in all living creatures from the land and sky. Noah still
appealed for the people to repent and enter the Ark in order to be saved. However, people still did not
believe that a flood would occur and because there was such thing as flood during that time, they made
fun of him and continued their sinful nature.
When all creatures has entered the Ark, Noah made a final call but no one would listen. The only people
who entered the Ark was Noah’s sons and their families. After seven days in the Ark, God sent rain from
the sky, water gushing from below the ground with river overflowing. The rain that fell was never before
seen and went on for forty days and nights until everything was under the water. No animal, birds and
human being was able to be saved accept for those who were in the boat.
This was the first and last ever kind of flood to happen on this earth because God put the rainbow that
we see today to mark His promise not to destroy the earth with flood again. The flooding we see today
are just mere small one that cannot destroy like the one that destroy the earth during the time of Noah.
I like to leave us with this message, “That God will not destroy this earth again with Flood but would
destroy it with fire. We don’t like to die an eternal death so we need to listen to what Pastors, teachers
and parents say to prepare us so when Jesus comes the second time, we won’t be a victim of the fire
that is prepared for Satan and his followers. Hope we all have learn a lesson in the Noah’s story to helps
prepare for the final destruction of the earth.

STORY TWO (2) – NATURE STORY
THE TREE WITH NO FRUIT (Mark 11: 12-14)
This is a story of a tree that stood along the road between Bethany and Jerusalem in a country called
Israel. The tree is called Fig Tree. Like mango, lalau and other fruits in Papua New Guinea, it usually bear
fruit in certain times only during the year.
One day Jesus and His disciples were travelling back to Jerusalem after spending a night in Bethany, a
small town near Jerusalem City. Jesus and His disciples have been travelling from town to town, village
to village, up the mountains and down the valleys and have not eaten much food.
While walking along the dusty road, weary and hungry; Jesus raise His head and saw a large Fid tree with
Shady branches and dark green leaves. Closer and closer they came hoping to find some juicy fruits.
However, to Jesus surprise, there were no Fruits to be found.
Jesus was not happy with the Fig tree and this is what He said, “No one shall ever eat figs from you
again”. And His Disciples heard Him said this and to their surprise the fig tree leaves all dried up and
started to fall. That tree was never seen on that road again.
Jesus wants us as children of God no to dress up nicely and pretend that we Christians and come to
church every Sabbath. Jesus does not want us to just read the Bible and sing praises to Him and that is
all. Jesus want us to be children of God who bear fruits. He want to see us bear the fruit of the Spirit in
Love, Joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control. Jesus wants our
worship life to bear this fruits in order to be accepted and live forever with Him. He does not want us to
die the eternal death like the fig tree.

THE BIG FIGHT
Emmanuel and Aggee were both attending a Seventh Day Adventist School in Libreville in a Central
African Country called Gabon.
One day at school during a class break, Emmanuel wanted to annoy Aggee who was 13 years old. He
knew Aggee was short tempered and started saying unkind things. Annoyed, Aggee slap Emmanuel on
his cheek. Emmanuel didn’t like being slapped so he slapped Aggee on his cheek too. Aggee was so
furious that he punched Emmanuel in the face.
All the children crowded around the two boys and started yelling not to stop them but encourage them
to continue fighting. It was then a teacher saw what was happening and had to come and pulled them
apart. The Teacher then asked the boys why they were fighting and Aggee was first to respond by saying
that Emmanuel was mean to him so he slap him. Emmanuel quickly defended him by saying Aggee slap
him first so he have to slap him back.
The teacher told them that they shouldn’t fight so as punishment, he told them to kneel at the front of
the classroom for 2 hours. After sometime, Aggee whispered to Emmanuel why he was mean to him.
Emmanuel replied and told him that he was only joking. Aggee wished he hadn’t lost his temper.
That summer, Aggee grandfather sent him to a Pathfinder campout in Franceville about a 12 hour drive
from Liberville. Aggee Bible Teacher also went to the camp and led out in morning and evening
worships. At the end of the three week campout he asked if anyone would like to give their hearts to
Jesus.
This is what Aggee’s Bible Teacher said to the Pathfinders, “ If you have not made a decision to give your
life to Jesus then you are still struggling with sin in your life. You don’t want to let go of something
because you have not completely surrendered to Christ.”
When Aggee heard those words, he remembered his short temper. He remembered how his short
temper has led to so many fights that has made his parents unhappy. He made his decision to change on
that very moment and prayed to God silently to follow Him.
Aggee accepted the call and stood up and went to the front. The people at the camp were surprise. His
Bible teacher was really happy that Aggee wanted to be baptized.
When Aggee came out of the water, everything changed. What he enjoyed in the past, the fights,
quarrels and his short temper all disappeared.
One day at school, Emmanuel brought some cake to school to sell and this is what happened;
“ Aggee buy my cake,” said Emmanuel. “I don’t want to buy today,” he said. “I’m not feeling well today.”
“Come on buy, buy!” said Emmanuel. “No, I can’t,” Aggee said. Emmanuel’s face twisted in anger, and
he slap Aggee. “Go!” he snapped. “Go away!” Aggee didn’t feel angry at all. “ Fighting is for animal,” he
said and quietly walked away.
With God’s help, his days of having a short temper were gone.

LIVING IN THE HOSPITAL
Tom when he was 5 years old became very sick from a sickness similar to pneumonia. He would cough,
have fever and complain from chest pains. The doctors couldn’t understand why Tom was not
responding to medication given.
Tom would stay in the hospital for a while and after feeling a bit better, the doctors would discharge him
and he would go home. But then the fevers, cough and chest pains would return, and he would be back
at the hospital again. In one year he was admitted 15 times.
A doctor took x-rays and blood test to diagnose or find out about the disease. He also gave him every
medicine in the hope of curing the disease.
When Tom was 6 years old, he was too sick so he have to be admitted full time at the hospital. His father
and mother also moved with him and stayed by his side every day. His condition got worse that even the
doctor looking after him began to avoid the mother because he found it difficult to tell the mother that
they were going to lose Tom.
One day Tom’s mother confronted the doctor and asked why he was avoiding her. The doctor looking
sad have to tell her that Tom condition is getting worse and that they were unable to help. He told her
that they will lose him any time.
Tom’s mother went quietly to Tom’s bed and sat down quietly with tears in her eyes. Tom sensed that
something was different and looked out the window. It was winter, and the children were joyfully racing
their sledge down a snowy hill and their parents hugging them at the bottom of the hill.
Tom then turn to his mommy and said softly, “I think that I’ll never be healthy again. Is that true?” Tears
flowed down his mother’s cheeks. Then his mother said, “Doctors have done everything that they can
but only one doctor is left who can help. If you believe in Him, He will heal you but you need to ask.”
Tom understood that his mother was talking about Jesus. He and his mother both knelt down beside his
hospital bed and prayed earnestly to God for His divine power and healing. This prayer was Tom’s first in
his life.
The next day Tom felt a little better. Days followed Tom conditions improved very much and after six
days the surprised doctor announced that Tom could go home. Tom was well.
Several years later, Tom learned why he had been sick. The parasite that caused his sickness was passed
from his father who contracted it in Australia while on a visit. The doctors didn’t know of this disease
that is why they were unable to cure it.
Tom has never been hospitalize again but today he goes to the hospital almost every day not as a
patient but as a residency doctor. He plan to become a missionary doctor in a faraway land after
completing his residency to help others like doctors and Jesus who helped him.
“May God has a mission for me to do,” he said. “I feel like I have received a great loan from God that I
need to repay. One day, I hope to know my mission.”
