HONDA
Honda believes in The Power of Dreams. But believing isn’t enough. As Soichiro Honda said:
“Action without philosophy is a lethal weapon; philosophy without action is worthless.”

Dreams inspired Soichiro Honda to create a company and continue to inspire and challenge.
Those dreams continue as Honda brings them to life and moves society forward.

Founded in 1948 in Hamamatsu, Japan, Honda opened its first U.S. storefront in Los Angeles,
CA, in 1959. What began as a nimble operation with eight industrious associates would quickly
grow to astounding heights.

For nearly four decades Honda has challenged to exceed government requirements – as the first
automaker to meet the Clean Air Act standards in the 1970s, then demonstrating low-emissions
vehicle technology that led the state of California to adopt new, more stringent emissions
regulations.

Honda is in the business of moving you in every sense of the word. They create intelligent
technologies that enrich lives and make the world more fun to move around on the road, on the
water, in the air and beyond.

When one thinks about what automakers can do to help the environment, the immediate thought
may be “improve fuel efficiency” or “develop alternatives to gasoline.”

Both are important to reducing CO2 emissions that contribute to climate change. That’s why
Honda developing zero emission vehicles and improved hybrid technology to meet the challenge
of reducing CO2.

But reducing the environmental impact of automobiles, including CO2, is not just about
improving fuel efficiency.

Designing, building, delivering, and selling a car also have environmental impacts that Honda
working to reduce or even eliminate. This holistic approach to reducing the impacts in all areas
of its business is what they call “Green Path.”

"Green Path" means reducing or eliminating the use of substances of concern (SOCs) and scarce
natural resources in the design of its vehicles. It means significantly reducing the CO2 emitted for
each vehicle built in plants, and reducing the water use of its manufacturing operations.

Honda is committed to the safety of its customers and everybody else on the road. To help keep
all drivers safe, they have developed suites of features for both the Honda and Acura automotive
brands to assist drivers in lowering the risk of collisions.

Honda is creating new products that improve the lives of people while protecting and preserving
our environment. By 2050, the company aims to cut in half CO2 emissions from its products and
business operations, including its production plants, in order to address greenhouse gas emissions
that contribute to global climate change.

Honda views electric vehicle as the key to a sustainable, ultra-low emissions mobility future. The
Clarity series of electrified products are at the forefront of Honda’s drive toward the
electrification of its products. By 2030, the company aim to have three-quarters of all the cars
that it sells globally be electrified vehicles in one form or another hybrids, plug-in hybrids,
battery electric or fuel cell.

with cumulative U.S. production of Accord exceeding 11 million vehicles over more than 35
years.

HONDA ACCORD

winning over car buyers with its simple design and fuel-efficiency. It quickly became the best-
selling car in America and has held this honor for the past 41 years with 13 million sold. As a
revolutionary car for both Honda and the entire auto industry, its performance, value and lasting
power are proven time and again. With a record 34 appearances on the prestigious Car and
Driver’s 10Best list, the Accord is a testament to our passion for engineering around a people-

Vehicle standards, and raised the bar with our Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-
assistive technologies. From advanced powertrains to addressing environmental issues, these

earning the trust of more American car buyers than any other vehicle during this time. Never
resting on our laurels, this drive pushes us to continually develop world-class safety, efficiency
