ALS Center: Community Learning Center/Date Dibua CLC 29 CLC 20 CLC

This document contains a daily lesson log for an Alternative Learning System class on perimeter. The lesson objectives are to teach learners how to compute the perimeter of different geometric shapes and explain its practical applications. Activities include identifying shapes, practice problems to compute perimeter, and group work applying formulas to find perimeters of squares, rectangles, and irregular shapes. Learners are evaluated on naming sides and measurements to compute perimeter of polygons. The teacher reflects on teaching strategies, difficulties, and innovations to share with other teachers.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Springboard/Motivation (Establishing a purpose Activity 1:
for the lesson)

 Show geometrical shapes to the learners and

ask them what geometrical shapes is being
shown in the pictures

B. Activity (Review of previous lesson/s or Activity 2: Pre-test

Presenting the new lesson)

 LE: Look at the polygons. Write the name of

the polygons in the spaces provided.

 AE/JHS: Answer the following questions

below using perimeter.

E. Abstraction (Making generalizations about the Ask:

lesson)  Give examples of geometrical shapes?

 What do you mean by perimeter?

 What is the formula in getting the perimeter of a rectangle?

 What is the formula in getting the perimeter of a square?

 How do you compute the perimeter a geometrical shape that doesn’t have equal sides?

F. Application (Developing mastery) Group Work

Distribute the worksheets and let them answer it using the cartolina and a pen.

LE: A. Draw six geometrical shapes and label them.

AE: Find the perimeter of each of the following polygons.
