Sea Cucumber: Healing Diabetic Ulcers

This document describes a study that examined the effect of sea cucumber extract on diabetic foot ulcers. The study involved 14 patients with diabetic foot ulcers grades 2-4. Patients were treated with sea cucumber extract added to hydrogel and applied to their wounds. Wound healing was assessed before and after treatment. Results showed improved wound healing in all patients, with reductions in wound size, depth, and infection. This suggests that sea cucumber extract may help promote wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers.
