Personal statement yang comel tu
The course that I’m going to choose is mathematics at Oxford university. I started to be
interested in mathematics since primary school. I was close with my teacher, Teacher Sabrina. She
taught me from year 1 until year 6 and has been my favorite teacher. Through out these six years,
my interest towards mathematics starts to develop more and more. From knowing nothing to
getting A on every exam. In class, I would be the first one who answers the question that had been
given. I’ll quickly ask question when I don’t understand and sometimes I would also question “why
can’t we solve the questions using other ways?”. Sometimes, my teacher would also ask me to help
her marking exam paper for standard 1, 2 and 3. That experience makes me more interested in
Mathematics.
During secondary school, I scored on every mathematics and Addmaths exam and
assessment. I joined Kangaroo Maths Competition and has gotten bronze medal as my highest
achievement. I also taught my friends mathematics when the exam is near or when they asked.
Other than that, my parents works as bankers so I was exposed to mathematics since I was small and
it has been one of the things I grew up with. Until today, I love to help others solve mathematics
problem and challenge myself on answering harder questions. Mathematics helps improving my
thinking skill and helps my mind to think more quickly.
That’s why I would really be interested in furthering my studies in mathematics which has
been my interest since I was a child. Other than that, when I’m choosing mathematics as the course,
I know that I’m choosing the right course as mathematics is a subject the would bring you so many
benefits. Having high level of knowledge on mathematics would really help me on being a lecturer,
which is also my dream since childhood. If I get to be a lecturer in mathematics, I would make sure
that I can understand every questions and helps my student while making sure they understand my
explanation and help them to develop their interest and love in mathematics the way I am.
University of Oxford should really accept me as a student in mathematics course because I
am very passionate in my interest and would like to further it and try achieving the highest level of
knowledge as possible. I am also very hardworking and a quick learner which would be ease the
burden of the university itself. I sincerely that you consider taking me into your university to attend
the course I mentioned and for a better future.
