Microbial Calcite Impact on Sandy Clay Strength

This thesis examines the effect of microbial induced calcite precipitation on the unconfined compressive strength of sandy clay. The thesis was submitted by five students to the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree in June 2019. It investigates using microorganisms to induce the precipitation of calcite in sandy clay soils to improve their strength properties.
