NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL READING MONTH CELEBRATION


School Year 2019-2020

“The more you read the more things you will know. The more you learn the more places
that you will go.-Dr. Seuss”. This is the line that I wanted to impart to our learners as we
celebrate National Reading Month last November 27, 2019 with a theme, Magbasa’t Umunlad.
As teachers, we wanted to show to our learners the importance of reading. Not just only to
identify letters or read the words, phrases, sentences or even paragraphs or stories but to love
reading as part of their lives. We involved also our dear parents so that they will know the
importance of reading in their children’s lives.

As we go on with our celebration, we saw excitement on them. They had also this kind of
determination to helped their classmates/schoolmates who had difficulties in reading, they
wanted to show to everyone that they can do better and what really matter was, they enjoyed and
loved these different activities.

Many activities were done to strengthen our children’s ability towards reading. These are:
Peer reading/tutoring
Interpretative
They Reading
are helping their classmates to read so that no one will be left behind.

Ma’am Grace made her own big book to


share and shows how to read it with the
proper expressions.

Help a Reader, Be a Volunteer

These mothers of Grade 1 learners


show their concern by offering
themselves as volunteers to lessen
the reading problem of Grade 1.

Word Formation

These learners are eager to form a


correct word out of a scramble letters
and after which they will present the
words they have formed.
