Geodatabase design forms

Geodatabase name
Feature dataset name
Feature classes:
Type Feature class name Alias

Type: Indicate if this is a PoiNT, Line, or POLYgon feature class.


Name: Enter the name of your feature class.
Alias: Describe the contents of the feature class.
Tables worksheet
Feature class or Nulls Default Domain name or
table name (lookup) Field name Key Field type Alias (Y/N) value subtype field (S) or (D)

Field type: Long Integer, Short Integer, Text, Floating Point, etc…
Alias: Alternate field name (may contain spaces)
Nulls: Are null values allowed?
Default value: Most common value
Domain/Subtype: Indicator of which domain or subtype is applied to this field
Key: Primary Key, Foreign Key, Lookup Key, etc…

Name: Name of domain


Description: Description of domain
Field type: Must match the field to which this domain will be applied
Domain type: Coded values (text) or range (numbers)
Code (or minimum): Code used to represent value OR low end of numeric range allowed
Desc (or maximum): Description of code OR high end of numeric range allowed
