INTRODUCTION
What really comes to your mind when you hear of the term “gender inequality?” In the
society we live, men & women exhibit differences that arise from psychology, culture and
physical structures in body appearances. Therefore, with the general knowledge of the
differences experienced by the different genders, gender inequality is the unequal treatment of
individuals just because they are of a male or female gender. Gender inequality is at most times
associated with certain effects on society and overall development and progress of a society or a
state because it is usually a translation that there is one gender that is favored. Gender inequality
has been recognized internationally as a threat to societal development and has led to the overall
lagging of development agendas in society and has to be dealt with to have societal development.
There is no positive effect that is brought to society by gender inequality and therefore, gender
inequality is ambiguous and can be a great hindrance when it comes to growth.

This article explores the role of gender in creating underdevelopment in the developing
countries by pointing into factors associated with education and cultural views. There
seem to be factors that lead to slow developments in developing countries since they have
developed gender favored gaps for males in health & education. There are also other
factors included in the article as they seem to cause gender inequality in employment,

gender violence, the power of marriage decision making, freedom of choices all which
are seen to cause underdevelopment and more so to the yet developed countries.
This article is useful for the research study because it shows the existence of gender gaps,
the root causes of these gender gaps and the effects they cause in the development. Also,
the article gives various propositions through recommendations on what has to be done in

This article investigates the agreement between community and company on the
agreements of the needs priorities and rights of the people affected by mining activities in
ensuring that benefits are shared equally. The research article indicates that women seem
to be more affected by mining activities than men do and also face the challenges of
accessing the opportunities for development that are accompanied by mining activities.
With the disputes that happen in such cases women receive little from mining activities,
the article notes that this is attributed by the community, government and company little
efforts in documenting guidelines that help in the delivery of the benefits of mining to
both women and men.
This article is of great use in the research because it highlights the factors that cause the
inequalities for the female and female development in the mining and points out the

various issues and considerations that the community, government, and mining company
have to do to achieve equal gender benefits and development from the mining company.

This article is research that is investigating the role of donors on giving aid to countries
with gender inequalities and aims looks into the amount of aid given to countries with
gender inequality. To measure the relationship between the amount of aid allocated and
the gender inequalities, there is a classification of gender inequalities in order to measure
the male ratio as well as the female ratio in each of the classified gender inequality types.
This research article documents that high gender gaps are associated with high aid
allocations as well as in the cases where there are high numbers of female representation
in politics seem to receive high aid allocations. There seems to be little attention paid to
merit when it comes to aid allocation and he is a danger because it is the only way that
could help in breaching the gap of inequality.
This article, for my gender inequality research, is important for the authors explore the
various factors considered by donors in the allocation of aid in the efforts of creating
equality and identifies areas which have to improved in donor funding for the
achievement of inequality and this serves as a base for future study in this area.

& gender institutions as it was formulated by Development Center in the assessment of
the cost that is attributed to the discrimination on gender bases in the institutions that are
committed to human as well as economic development. The article identifies such issues
as being complex in the work advocacy because arguments based on rights seem to have
less influence.
This article is an important piece of information for the research because it provides
information the is useful in the feasible measurement of the invisible and at the same time
an assurance in ensuring that norms of the society are playing an impact in the social
policies elaboration. The article also shares the ways in which girls lives and women lives
are affected in development by the existence of these inequalities.
CONCLUSION
Gender inequality has proved to be an issue that is leading to slow development in many
parts across the world. This inequality cuts across education, health as well as the labor market in
which male gender is seen to be dominating these sectors. The efforts carried out in ensuring that
there is gender equality are most of the time funded on the basis of the places that exhibit
disparities in gender inequalities and not based on merit and this in most cases benefits those
areas in which there are more of female political representatives. Successful adoption of better
practices as well as policies that eliminate the existing gender inequalities would see an
improvement in the social as well as economic development of most societies where women are
seen to be of fewer values and the world as a whole would experience development as well.
