bass drum snare
Beat keys to simulate drums. Don't blow through the saxophone.
Seal off the mouthpiece with your tongue to increase resonance.
Page four is a simulation of a drum solo. By beating various keys on the
saxophone, drum-like sounds can be produced. For example, beating low
Bb will simulate a bass drum, while hitting the F key will produce a snare-
like sound. Follow the suggested fingerings to produce the different drum
sounds. The keys need to be hit loudly in this section so that the ‘drums’
can be heard. To increase resonance, close off the end of the mouthpiece
and the reed with the tongue.

The ‘Wa Wa’ effect on page five is achieved by alternating between the
two given fingerings. The rhythm must be kept constant to provide a
contrast with the changing articulations.
