“St. Francis Xavier, a welcoming faith community lovingly sharing the gifts of God.”

BAPTISM OF THE LORD

JANUARY 9TH 2011
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently,
especially Gary Cybulski, Roy Brisco, Noreen Martinson and Clarence Prince.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home especially Kay Kasaboski. May your
struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD

T he feast of the Baptism of the Lord marks the end of the Christmas season
and the beginning of Ordinary Time. Its theme of light and revelation flow
out of these days after Epiphany; and the Gospel for today stands first in the
long sequence of readings about Jesus’ teachings, healings, and miracles that
characterize the season of Ordinary Time.

PLEASE NOTE: I will be leaving the parish Sunday with the expectation of returning
next Saturday in better health. Hopefully, this time away will provide the renewed
strength needed to begin the schedule of commitments needed to accomplish our
winter ministries. The parish staff appreciates your support and encouragement
as they continue to provide for the needs of the parish in my absence. Fr. Peter
