1.0 Introduction
1.1 This method statement is limited to the installation of Back Boxes, Under Plaster
and Under Ceramic Tiles for Lighting Switch, Small Power, Telephone &
Computer as outlined in the specifications and approved drawings.
1.2 This shall ensure that the installation of Back Boxes for Lighting Switch, Small
Power, Telephone & Computer are installed in accordance with the subcontract
requirements and standard regulations.

3.0 Procedure
3.1 Check drawings for correct revision and notes.
3.2 Check drawings for proper co-ordination with other disciplines using the latest
information received at time of installation.
3.3 Secure Consultants approval of detailed layout shop drawings.
3.4 Check materials and equipment to specifications and Client approval.
3.5. Check execution of installation to latest approved drawings and specifications.
3.6. Set out locations of fittings ie switched & socket outlet boxes for power telephone &
TV or as required, drop points, mark out conduit runs and locate fixings.
3.7 Cut concrete blockwork with ‘Clipper’ Saw to suit size & marked locations of boxes.
3.8 Fix boxes in position keeping good alignment, leveling & mounting height as required
like 1250mm for lighting switches, 450mm FFL for general sockets in rooms &
250mm above worktops, work benches, etc. Boxes shall extend from blockwork to
face of plaster or ceremic tiles.
3.8. Ensure the cross-section and percent fill area of boxes against the size of cables to
be pulled into it.
3.9. Check boxes alignment and rigidity of installation.

3.10. Complete punch item raised (if any) after preliminary inspection.
3.11. On satisfactory inspection, construction to start on second fix.
4.0 Documents
4.1 Inspection Test Schedule (ITS), Request for inspection (RFI).
5.0 Supervision
5.1 The works will be supervised by the LDC Electrical Engineer / Supervisor.
5.2 The works will be co-ordinated / verified by (Rhemster or Third Party Inspector).
6.0 Inspection
6.1 Work shall be inspected by concerned authorities during and after installation. Any
comments / items made shall be completed before acceptance.
