CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the whole of creation; and the final
success belongs to the pious. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped
except Allah the one who sustain and protects the heavens and the earth, alone
without any partners.
There is none worthy of worship but He, and no creator but He, and no Lord but
He. He is the Sovereign in whose hand is the Dominion of all things, and unto
Him is the final return. He is the Subduer who, by his might and power, has
subjugated every created being. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him
and his family and Companions, and upon those who follow in their footsteps
and tread their path.
And I testify that Muhammad is His slave, Messenger and beloved one. May the
peace and blessing of Allah be upon him, his family and all his Companions. To
proceed:
The day of judgment, has is process. The process, being is sequence in judging,
correcting, implementing and dividing the good from the bad, the disbeliever
from the believer, these outcomes, comes from Allah.
“It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is
the believer. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.” (Quran, 64 verse 2)
Everything your senses experience, taste, smell, see and hear has a purpose,
process and function. When you take the life of human, mankind has is
process, meaning we given life and we are taken by death. Life to death is
process of either short or long elongation, meaning we can pass away at any
age and time. Sometimes the life span expands and sometimes life span can be
short.
In terms of Day of judgment, there are minor and major signs of judgment.
Once the major signs have happened and completed then the process of
judgment will occur.
“The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and
what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a
great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His]
servants."(Quran, 3 verse 30)
The purpose of day of judgement, is that Allah Judges mankind correctly and
deals with all situation fairly. Furthermore, that day Allah will gather mankind
after the resurrection, which the angel Israfil blows for the trumpet for the last
time.
“And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on
the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again,
and at once they will be standing, looking on.”
ANALYSING THE MINOR SIGN
The minor signs towards the judgment day, are steps of reminders and
warning of is link to the major signs and the land of gathering. The effect of the
minor signs towards all creation has minimal impact then the major signs.
Surely Allah is the best of planners, for he is full of wisdom and greatness.
If we look and minor signs, there are seventy – seven of them, I am going look
at seven minor signs and two of the major signs:
1. Time will pass rapidly. [Bukhari, Muslim, & Ahmad]
Time itself is constant motion, were by time, will move quicker at a fast pace.
Ahmad narrated (10560) that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Hour will not begin until
time passes quickly, so a year will be like a month, and a month will be like a
week, and a week will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour
will be like the burning of a braid of palm leaves.”
The year month and day change, meaning time becomes faster in is duration
and alternation. Allah says in the Quran;
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of
the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.” (Quran chapter 3,
verse 190)
As human living, time passes every day and every night. Time has an impact on
3 things: mankind, earth and the universe. Time will pass just as salt dissolves
in water and that people will feel sense of confusion.
“By time”
“Indeed, mankind is in loss”
2. Good deeds will decrease. [Bukhari]
Deeds will diminish, the deeds decreasing has spiritual emotion, are need to
succeed and wishing to be closer to Allah, is are yearn. The acts of worship will
be less and this pave the way for Dajjal.
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be
upon him, said, “Verily, the faith of one of you will wear out within him, just
as a shirt becomes worn out, so ask Allah to renew faith in your hearts.”
Good deeds will decrease just like a shirt becomes worn out. Iman will be
dismantled and only few will remember Allah. Prayers will be neglected; this
means that some prayers will be missed or that the entire prayers will be
abandoned.
In terms of good deeds decreasing, as time goes by. This would by later lead to
abandoning the Quran.
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this
Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The one
who omits to pray Asr, all his good deeds will be lost.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari
(553).
The deeds that are lost, is to do with consequence of neglect of duty, that has
been legislated, in this case salah. People will neglect the contract that they
made with Allah, which is the declaration of faith.
“I bear witness that no one deserves to be worshiped except Allah and I bear
witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Good deeds are a form of good action and when the action is good then the
guilt of wasting time is simply not there. The heart feels that is doing good and
there he gets this inclination of feeling is affect therefore he is not wasting
time but rather he feels he is capturing time and making use of it.
The Prophet Mohammad (SAW), used to call on Muslims to take the initiative
to do good deeds before any obstacles arise. He (SAW) said, “Lose no time to
do good deeds before you are caught up by one of seven calamities awaiting
you: a starvation which may impair your wisdom; a prosperity which may
mislead you; an ailment which may damage your health; an old age which may
harm your senses; a sudden death; the Dajjal (Antichrist); or Doomsday, which
is indeed the hardest and most bitter.” (At-Tirmidhi)
3. People will become miserly. [Bukhari]
People will withhold in given charity. The intention of doing good or helping
another will not be the agenda nor thought of the individuals. The basis of
sharing and good conduct will be failure from certain people.
Narrated/Authority of Hakim bin Hizam. The Prophet said, "The upper hand is
better than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who
takes it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best object of
charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the money which is left
after his expenses). And whoever abstains from asking others for some
financial help, Allah will give him and save him from asking others, Allah will
make him self-sufficient."
” A man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know
what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in
private and so his eyes shed tears.” (Abu Hurairah & collected in Saheeh al-
Bukhari (English trans.) vol.1, p.356, no.629 & Saheeh Muslim (English trans.)
vol.2, p.493, no.2248)
The consciousness of doing the correct action will seem hard for the person.
Obtaining more Wealth and more materialistic items, will lead to ignorants and
replace good character and good intentions to action that displeasing to Allah
i.e. not given.
4. There will be much killing and murder. [Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, &
Ahmad]
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels,
"Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will
You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while
we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that
which you do not know."
“Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and shed blood.”
The Angel questioned mankind intentions after obtaining knowledge of the
behaviour of previous creation. Furthermore, Allah noes best what happens
and why it happens?
The link between the minor sign that indicate the increase in killing and what
the angels say ‘shed blood’ have common theme. The question that the angel
implied, was rather a future statement and mankind current situation. The
purpose of our existence is to worship are creator and refrain from that which
causes harm. Killing is major sin Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, said regarding the major sins, “They are associating
idols with Allah, disobedience to parents, killing a person, and false testimony.”
The action of killing, is an evil act and that consequence of that deed can result
in hell fire, as it ranks as a major sin.
“But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he
will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him
and has prepared for him a great punishment.” (Quran chapter 3, verse 93)
Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said:
“I asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him),
‘Which sin is worst in the sight of Allaah?’ He said, ‘To make any rival to Allaah,
when He has created you.’ I asked, ‘Then what?’ He said, ‘To kill your child for
fear that he will eat with you.’ I asked, ‘Then what?’ He said, ‘To commit
zinaa with the wife of your neighbour.’”
‘To Kill your child for fear that he will eat with you.’
A person will murder his own blood being afraid of being poor and that cause
of this is due to not sharing and this ties in with ‘People will become
miserly.’[Bukhari]
Poverty would be means of killing, and any action like this, is the friend of evil
nature. The basis of understand, is that killing is a forbidden action
The fiqh ruling upon a person who commits this, there are three conditions must
apply to make the killing a murder:
1) The killer’s intention is to kill his victim.
2) Knowledge that the person he intends to kill is a human being who enjoys the
right to life.
3) The means used is something that normally leads to killing, whether it has a
sharp blade or not.
Related by Ibn Majah, Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying
‘Whoever commits a murder is given to the victim’s immediate family. They
may enforce the death penalty, or may take indemnity which is thirty camels
over three years of age, and thirty over five years and forty pregnant she-
camels. Whatever they agree above that is theirs to take.’
5. Power and authority will be given to wrong people. [Bukhari]
Power and authority will fall into the hands of corruptors, oppressors and liars.
The Dajjal fits this description, as time goes by more and more wrong people
will obtain leadership, there action will demonstrate injustice and oppression
to their people.
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger ( )ﷺas saying: Last Hour would not
come until there would arise about thirty impostors, liars, and each one of
them would claim that he is a messenger of Allah. (Sahih Muslim Book 54,
Hadith #108)
Too much power and authority will lead a person astray and that the correct
method of obtaining power is through piety and good character. An example of
this is beloved prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). One of the qualities that the
prophet had was a good judge.
Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) said, “Whoever has oppressed another person
concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to forgive him
before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money (to compensate
for wrong deeds), but if he has good deeds, those good deeds will be taken
from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good
deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him.”Volume 3, Book
43, Number 629: Sahih Bukhari.
One the characters, of bad individual, is that he is an oppressor. That makes
him visible to mistakes and error. Necessity in wanting more power, is a
disease and their behaviour changes, which therefore the identity of their
character becomes more wicked.
More and more evil individual will begin to take authority leading to wide
spread of bullying and dominating. Abu Saeed Khudri has narrated that the
Holy Prophet (S) said, “This severity and suffocation would continue on you in
such a way that the earth shall be replete with injustice and oppression and no
one would dare to say, “God”. After that the Almighty Allah (SwT) would send
a man from my progeny who would fill the earth with justice and equity just as
it would have been fraught with injustice. And the earth will discharge its
bounties and blessings and the life of Muslims would become prosperous and
comfortable.”
6. Honesty will be lost. [Bukhari]
Trustworthy will gradually decline from people and that business transaction
will seem a fair amount of distrust. Loyalty will seem hard and keeping
promises, will eventually break.
“Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants;”
The person who commits the promise with his tongue has displayed a contract
of agreement. Hence the purpose of agreement will show Allah whether he
trustworthy to the person who he/she made the promise to.
“And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that
is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the
commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.” (Quran 17,
verse 34)
Allah's Messenger ( )ﷺsaid, "When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour." It
was asked, "How will honesty be lost, O Allah's Messenger ( "?)ﷺHe said,
"When authority is given to those who do not deserve it, then wait for the
Hour."
During the period of trials i.e. the closeness of the Day of judgment. There will
be widespread dishonesty and trust broken. The sign itself has spiritual
emotion, what seems to be truth, will be a lie. Distrust will only occur, then for
the righteous, be patient.
7. The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance
[Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, & Ahmad]
The understanding of Islamic knowledge, will disappear, just as water place on
burning fire eventual fades. Ignorant will replace knowledge and that the
death of scholars will be lost, meaning the true understanding of Islam both
Quran and Sunnah will evaporate.
I heard Allah's Messenger ( )ﷺsaying, "Allah does not take away the
knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away
by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious
learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who
when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go
astray and will lead the people astray."
And 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz wrote to Abu Bakr bin Hazm, "Look for the
knowledge of Hadith and get it written, as I am afraid that religious knowledge
will vanish and the religious learned men will pass away (die). Do not accept
anything save the Hadiths of the Prophet. Circulate knowledge and teach the
ignorant, for knowledge does not vanish except when it is kept secretly (to
oneself)."
The sign itself is Wisdom and a purpose from Allah, and all the other signs as
well. The whole understanding of the disappearance of knowledge is due to
the amount of ignorant that will prevail. Allah does things that we cannot grasp
or understand.
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I
will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place
upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare
Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do
not know."(Quran chapter 2, verse 30)
‘I know that which you do not know.’
The verse ‘I know that which you do not know.’ Means that Allah noes and we
creature do not know the great wisdom that Allah displays. Everything Allah
does is for a wisdom just as Allah created the signs towards the Day of
judgment for purpose.
ANALYSING THE MAJOR SIGNS
The major signs are events leading towards Judgment day. The major signs
have vast impact, as they are signs of the truth.
“Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them
unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications. Then
what good to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance?” (Quran
chapter 47, verse 18)
There are ten major signs that occur, leading up to judgment day. The first is
the arrival of the mahdi, second the Dajjal will appear, third is the descent of
Isa, the fourth is the emergence of Yajooj and Majooj, the fifth is the smoke
will appear, the sixth is the emergence of the Beast, the seventh is the sun
rising from the west, the eight is landslides, the ninth is fire will begin, tenth
the kaabah will be destroyed.
1. The Arrival Of The Mahdi
The arrival of the Mahdi places a vital role for the Muslims. He will change
injustice to justice. Al-Mahdi, “The Rightly Guided One”, is the name given to
the restorer of religion and justice who, according to a widely held Muslim
belief, will rule before the end of the world. The term Mahdi as such does not
occur in the Qur’an but is derived from the Arabic root h-d-y commonly used in
the Qur’an with the meaning of divine guidance.
Narrated to us al-Walīd, from Abū Rāfi`, from someone who narrated to him,
from Abū Sa`īd al-Khudrī, may Allah be satisfied with him, from the Holy
Prophet, Allah’s blessings be on him [and his family], who said: “The name of
the Mahdī is [the same as] my name.”
The Prophet (S) said: "The Mahdi will appear in my Ummah. He will appear for
a minimum of 7 or a maximum of 9 years; at that time, my Ummah will
experience a bountiful favor like never before. It shall have a great abundance
of food, of which it need not save anything, and the wealth at that time is in
great quantities, such that if a man asks the Mahdi to give him some, and the
Mahdi (as) will say: Here! Take!
2. Dajjal will appear
In a Hadith narrated by Imran ibn Hussain radiyallahu anhum, the
Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said, ‘Since the birth of Adam till
the advent of Qiyaamah (Judgement Day) there is no fitnah (tribulation) much
greater than that of Dajjal.’
Hadith above explains a great tribulation and sign of great warning. Dajjal will
be figure never seen before bringing a great deception.
Ubadah ibn Saamit radiyallahu anhu narrates that the Last Prophet (peace
& blessings be upon him) said, ‘I have explained Dajjal to you, but I fear that
you might not have understood. Maseeh-ud-Dajjal will be short and his legs
will be crooked. The hair on his head will be extremely twisted. He will have
one eye, while his other eye will be flat. It will be neither deep, nor
protruding.’
Hadith above explains that prophet was making a clear, to his companion
about description of the antichrist or Dajjal.
Ibn Umar radiyallahu anhuma narrates from the Last Prophet (peace &
blessings be upon him) regarding Dajjal, ‘…red complexioned, fat, curly haired
man, blind in the right eye which looks like a bulging grape.’
(Bukhari)
According to the many Ahaadith describing Dajjal, the most distinguishing
feature of his face besides the bulging eye will be the Arabic letters Kaaf
(k), Faa (f), Raa (r), on his forehead. These letters spell Kufr (disbelief). All
believers, regardless of their literacy will decipher these letters.
It has also been ascertained from the Hadith that he will emerge from between
Syria and Iraq, and his emergence will become known when he is in Isfahaan,
at a place called Judea. He will be of Jewish origin and the Jews of Isfahaan will
be his main followers and they will refer to him as the Messiah. As he goes on
through the world, Jews and a great number of non-Jewish women will flock to
him upon witnessing his false miracles.
- The dajjal will have followers mainly Jewish
- The description of the dajjal has been made clear to us
CONCLUSION
The minor and major signs play a vital role, in bringing mankind, the truth. The
day of judgment is a reminder and a warning. Believing in the day of judgment
is part of pillars of Iman and we need recognize is importance.
