I teach one section of Elementary Social Studies Methods to pre-service teacher candidates. We
discuss the philosophy and implementation of social studies for young learners. We emphasize
strategies for primary sources, creating curriculum through an anti-bias lens, building social
studies into literacy instruction, and social studies content for pre-teachers.

Teaching high school social studies at one of the largest high schools in the district. Courses
taught include World Geography, U.S. History, and Advanced Placement U.S. History. Served as
department chair for social studies for two years.

Supervised undergraduate student teachers in during their field experiences at local schools.
Duties included observation of student lessons, providing weekly reports on student progress to
