New Logo Guidelines
GatewayCDI and Merchandise Mania have been
producing promotional products for the on-
line store and for special events for eight +
years.
The logo usage and logo colors were approved
by Google contacts over the years.
New Logo Guidelines
In September of 2010 Google made GatewayCDI
aware of new, specific logo guidelines and
standards.
This PowerPoint offers step by step brand
information.
New Logo Guidelines
General Overview:
The logo stays pretty much the same as it has
always looked. HOWEVER, there are some
new PMS colors and new thread colors.
New Logo Guidelines
General Overview:
Let us be clear: Effective immediately, all orders
should be run utilizing the new PMS colors.
This holds true even in the case of a repeat
order. GatewayCDI will specify the correct
PMS colors on all Purchase Orders.

New Logo Guidelines
Embroidery Thread Colors
• The new Google logo thread colors have been matched for embroidery to
the following Madeira thread colors: Blue 1934, Red 1839, Yellow 1683
and Green 1050.
• IMPORTANT NOTICE: We ask our supplier partners to be certain you
are utilizing the new, correct thread colors. This holds true even in the
case of re-orders. GatewayCDI will specify the correct thread colors on
all purchase orders.
• In some instances, suppliers do not use Madeira thread. In these cases, it
is the suppliers’ responsibility to contact GatewayCDI and provide a
sewout. Please constact: Sara Jezik. 314 535 1888.

New Logo Guidelines
• When using the new Google logo there is a defined clear space to allow the logo to
stand out. The clear space should always be equal to or greater than the x-height of
the Google logo.
• Be advised, there are occasions when Google client contacts will allow violation of
the clear space guidelines for promotional products only. GatewayCDI will be
responsible for getting logo approval from the correct contact within Google.
New Logo Guidelines
• Please note: In some instances (particularly for the Special Order business) Google
requests additional copy to be added below the logo.
• In these instances there is a specific font that must be used:
• The font is: General GG
• GatewayCDI has purchased this font. If there is a need to add text to the logo
GatewayCDI must be responsible for providing the art within the correct font.
New Logo Guidelines
• Below are examples of the correct usage of the Google logo for print on product. If
you have questions or concerns of the correct way to use the Google logo please
contact: Sara Jezik. 314 535 1888. [Link]@[Link]
• The Google white version of the logo should only be used in print and online in circumstances
when the design calls for the logo to be used on a solid color background or on top of a
photograph. When using the white logo on a photograph the area on which the logo lies must
be on a somewhat solid background so the logo can be seen clearly.
• The full black logo is only used in print when grayscale printing is the ONLY option. This
should only be used in extremely unique circumstances.
New Logo Guidelines
• Below are examples of the correct and incorrect ways to use the Google logo. If
you have questions or concerns of the correct way to use the Google logo please
contact: Sara Jezik. 314 535 1888. [Link]@[Link]
• Do not use the Google color logo on a color background.
• The logo is never to be modified unless GatewayCDI has received specific permission from
Google to do so.
• Although you may use the white Google logo on a photograph background, you may not use the
Google logo (color or white) on top of a busy photograph as it will cause the logo to be lost in
the image as shown above.
New Logo
Guidelines
TM Usage
• Terms that we have agreed on with Google is that the TM is only to be used on
screened or laser engraved items
• The TM is never used on embroidery because it becomes jumbled due to the size
• The preferable TM color is the grey (PMS 403) however black can also be used
and when facing color limitations, the blue can be used
New Logo Guidelines
• We hope you have found this information useful.
• Effective immediately, all orders from both GatewayCDI and Merchandise Mania
will be produced utilizing the new brand guidelines…this holds for both program
orders and special event orders.
• This also holds for re-orders! Please note: in instances wherein there are older
Google logos still “on the shelf” or “in the closet” this means there may be a slight
difference in logo color.
Our goal has been to clearly and
effectively communicate the new logo
standards for Google. If you have any
questions, please contact:
