Sulfur Removal from Diesel via Adsorption

This document summarizes a research article that studied the adsorption process of removing sulfur from diesel oil using sorbent materials. The article describes how activated carbon and carbonized date palm kernel powder were used to treat local diesel fuel with an original sulfur content of 410 ppm. The activated carbon reduced the sulfur content by over 54%, while the carbonized date palm kernel powder showed lower performance. The results indicate adsorption desulfurization using activated carbon is an effective method for reducing sulfur in diesel fuel and improving emissions quality.
