The maximum overcoating times can vary substantially
with climatic conditions and as such has to be observed.
Standard it is 48 hrs at 20 °C, however strong UV / Sunlight
will substantially reduce the overcoating time.
Once maximum recoating time has been reached, adhesion
values attained by any subsequent coat will reduce
dramatically. Should this occur overcoating should be
treated as repair, with the coating flash blasted to provide a
physical key. Styrene cannot be used to reactivate the
surface of this product and may impair adhesion. Take care
to avoid contamination before application of subsequent

at the specified temperature.
5. For optimum application, material should have a
temperature from 10 - 30°C (50 - 86ºF).
6. Apply in even, parallel passes; overlap 50% to avoid
holidays, bare areas, and pinholes. If required, cross
spray at right angles.
7. Ventilate confined spaces with clean air between coats
and while curing the final coat. The steel temperature
must be at least 3°C/5ºF above the dew point to prevent
condensation on the surface between coats.
8. Repair any damage by brush or spray.
9. Clean all equipment with recommended cleaner
immediately after use. When left in spray equipment,
Amercoat 4801 will cure and cause clogging.
