RHUS TOXICODENDRON

Listless, sad. Thoughts of suicide. Extreme restlessness, with


continued change of position. Delirium, with fear of being poisoned
(Hyos). Sensorium becomes cloudy. Great apprehension at night,
cannot remain in bed.

J.H.CLARKE

Anxious sadness and excessive anguish, esp. (at twilight) in


evening and at night, with wish for solitude and inclination to
weep. Restlessness which will not suffer the patient to remain
seated.; and compels him to throw himself about in bed. Anguish
with fear of death and sighs. Fear of being poisoned. Suicidal
mania (desire to throw himself into the water). Irritability and ill-
humor, with repugnance to labor. Moral dejection with
anthropophobia. Helplessness and profound despondency.
Uneasiness respecting one's children, affairs, and the future, with
want of self-confidence. Weakness of memory and forgetfulness
(cannot remember the most recent events). Want of ideas and of
mental energy. Difficult comprehension. Slowness of conception
and mental dullness. Delusions of the imagination and visions. Mild
delirium; with insensibility.

S.R.PHATAK

Anxious, sadness; helplessness and profound despondency. Low


mild delirium; incoherent talk, answers correctly but slowly, or
hastily or reluctantly. Inclination to weep agg. in evening; without
knowing why; with desire for solitude. Fear of being poisoned.
Satiety of life; thoughts of suicide, wants to drown himself.
Forgetful can not remember the most recent events. Fear agg. at
night, can not lie in bed. Confusion. Anxiety, respecting one's
children.

Most of the mental symptoms of Rhus are such as prevail during


low forms of fever, especially in typhoid. There is then incoherent
talking; answers questions hastily. There is anxiety,
apprehensions, and fear. Intense fear at night. The complaints of
Rhus often come on in the night. The mental symptoms are worse
at night. The delirium is worse at night. The fears and anxiety are
worse at night. The chronic mental symptoms of Rhus are
despondency, mental prostration, inability to sustain a mental
effort, disgust for life and thoughts of suicide. He wants to drown
himself yet he has fear of death. He desires to die yet he has not
the courage to commit suicide. In many instances he is filled with
suicidal- thoughts; sadness and weeping yet he knows not why.
Irritability and anxiety as if he had met with some misfortune,
restlessness, anxiousness and nervous in the extreme in acute and
chronic complaints. Colds settle throughout the body and limbs. He
is full of dizziness as if intoxicated; staggers, when walking.
