A Looser Like You
INT. THE LIBRARY. DAY
NABIL, SARAH and ALDO are all sitting on the table; Nabil on the
left side and Aldo and Sarah both on the right side. Nabil is
revising for his chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics exam.
NABIL
(With pride and joy)
Ahh don’t you just love the smell of the library...
(Takes a deep breath)
It’s like a breath of fresh air
ALDO and SARAH
(In an obvious tone)
Err yeah it smells like a library,
(Emphasis)

NABIL
Ohh you two are just the same
SARAH
Maybe because were brothers and sisters
(Emphasis)

NABIL
(In a very passionate, exaggerated and inspiring tone of voice)
No I mean a library is filled with knowledge, it fills you with an
understanding of the world around you, it helps you when-
SARAH
(Cuts of Nabil while he is talking because she is fed up with his
obsession of revision and the library)
Yeah yeah we get the point,
(Rolls her eyes)
Jeezh
NABIL
well sorry for trying to make a point!
ALDO
(Sulking)
err out of all the places you could take us to,
(Puts his hand on his right cheek to show his boredom of the
library)
you take us to a library
SARAH
(rolling her eyes)
Ohh stop moaning
your such a mummy’s boy
ALDO
No I’m not!
SARAH
Yes you are, you’re always crying to mummy when I change the TV
channel, coz you want to watch
(Emphasis)
Teletubbies
NABIL
(Suprised)
Really
ALDO
Nah uh
SARAH
Uh huh
NABIL
(Fed up)
Oh you to stop moaning
(His concentration is then shifted to Lilly)
(Lilly is walking around the magazine section, while Nabil is
still looking at her. Lilly picks up a magazine she likes, opens
it and swishes her hair from side to side)
NABIL
She’s so, so beautiful
SARAH
Nabil
(Sarah makes fun of Nabil’s name to show her boredom)
Nabili, Nabilidibob
(Aldo and Sarah both look back in Nabil’s direction to see what
Nabil is looking at. They both see Lilly and turn back their
heads)
ALDO and SARAH
Yeah
(They both quickly shake their heads indicating the impossibility
of Nabil and Lilly)
never gonna happen
(Nabil is still looking at Lilly as if mesmerized by her beauty.
Lilly then turns to look at Nabil who notices he is looking at her
and smiles at him. Nabil is immediately scared by Lilly’s
attention towards him and gets his doctor who book to cover his
face but accidently has it upside down)
(Nabil is then looking at her with the book covering his whole
face but his eyes. He looks at her as if he is invincible,
thinking that Lilly can’t see him anymore)
ALDO
(In an obvious tone as if he has said this more than once)
Nabil, your books are upside down
NABIL
Oh, Damn it
SARAH
We saw what you were looking at Nabil and well no offense but
you’re a geek and her, well she’s a...
ALDO
(Nods his head)
She’s a hot chick!
NABIL
Oh now that’s just insulting, I’ve been in love with that girl
ever since year three, but I’ve never had the bloody balls to tell
her
SARAH
(surprised)
Wow, hang on, what balls?
ALDO
(Aldo feeling proud of himself that he knows something that Sarah
doesn’t, he rests his hand on her shoulder and nods his head with
pride)
I think you’re too young to know
NABIL
I mean we’ll look at her, she’s the most beautiful girl in the
world and I’m just some guy who has all of Star wars episodes on
DVD.
SARAH
Ok listen, just because you’re our babysitter and just because we
feel sorry
(Emphasis)
for a looser like you
ALDO
We’ll try and help you
NABIL
(surprised)
really!
(Aldo and Sarah both look at each other and nod)
NABIL
Ok smarty-pants, what’s your genius plan then
SARAH
Ok, here are the three simple rules
ALDO
(In an obvious tone to indicate that he knows the rules and thinks
of himself as a gentleman who is popular with the girls)
that every guy should know!
SARAH
Rule one; approach her with a smile
ALDO
Rule two; always compliment her on her appearance
SARAH
And finally the most important rule of all is rule three; ask her
out on a date
NABIL
(Rests his finger on the side of his chin to indicate he is
thoroughly thinking about the rules and if he is able to meet
them)
Mmmm, from the calculations at the top of my head, I think that
will just about work
(Nabil gets up and prepares himself when he approaches Lilly. He
begins to walk, while still looking at Lilly and accidently
buckles, falling front on his face)
(Nabil is on the floor behind Lilly, where she has her back to
him. She then turns around and looks down seeing Nabil on the
floor)
(Lilly puts her hand on his shoulder)
LILLY
are you ok?
SARAH
What do you think their saying
ALDO
well I don’t know
(Nabil ruining every chance he always gets, becomes really big
headed at the fact that he is talking to the most popular girl in
school and accidently point his finger at her boobs)
(Lilly is offended by his move and hits him on the head with her
magazine and walks away from him)
(Nabil turns around and slowly walks towards Sarah and Aldo and
then sits down as if he is sulking)
NABIL
Great, that’s now a 101 girls that have now rejected me.
ALDO and SARAH
(In a sarcastic and obvious tone)
You think!
NABIL
I’m just going to stick to doing maths now, it always cleanses my
mind
(Aldo and Sarah both look at each other and sigh, both falling
back as if they are never going to get out of the library)
(They both begin to snore loudly, pretending to fall asleep in
order to show how boring the library and how Nabil is never going
to be able to approach a girl properly)
