Indonesia Hotel Performance 2017 Insights

Hotel demand in Indonesia grew significantly in 2017 at the highest rate since 2011, however supply increased at a slower pace. As a result, revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose slightly. Performance was better in the non-central business district areas of Jakarta compared to the CBD. The eruption of Mount Agung heavily impacted Bali's hotel performance in November and December with double-digit revenue declines. Surabaya saw increases in occupancy, average daily rate, and RevPAR. Makassar's RevPAR declined due to growing hotel supply.
