California Career Zone Reflection
In 12th grade, I completed the California Career Zone Reflection. The California Career
Zone is a great tool to help people narrow down their interests pertaining to what they want to
do in the future. My interest results included artistic, social, and investigative. These interest
areas show that I would possibly do well in careers that allow me to develop and polish my
creativity, helpfulness, and curiosity.
My results show that I am suitable for a career in dancing/choreography, music/art
therapy, and singing. The first career I chose is dancing/choreography. The educational
requirements for dancers and choreographers are musical theatre, ballet, general dance, and
another more specific type of dance . The salary range for a dancer varies and is not exact, but
for a choreographer the range is $22, 720 - $118, 980 with the average of $70, 020. The second
career I chose is music/art therapy. The educational requirement for music and art therapists is
therapeutic recreation/recreational therapy. The salary range for both careers is $41, 750 - $98,
400 with the average of $75, 810.
I chose these careers because I love music and art. Music and art have been a part of
my life since I was little. I was in cheerleading from preschool to 8th grade and I was drawing
and making other kinds of art during the same time period. I believe I would wholly enjoy
working in these fields should I choose to follow them.
