TOPIC: Case Abstract on High Risk Pregnancy

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After studying and analyzing case scenario given, the students should be able to:
1. discuss the answers to the critical questions.
2. describe the necessary cues and clues necessary to formulate a nursing care plan on the specific case
assigned.
3. Enumerate laboratory and diagnostic procedures that are expected to be performed given a particular
high risk condition during pregnancy
4. Give the significance of the laboratory and diagnostic tests done and their implications to the mother
and to the fetus.
5. formulate nursing diagnoses and nursing care plan related to the physiologic and pyschologic aspects
of the pregnant client with a high risk condition.
6. Establish expected outcomes to meet the needs of a woman during pregnancy, labor and delivery and
postpartum.
7. Establish criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions enumerated.

INTRODUCTION: This project will be a form of summative evaluation and should reflect critical analysis of the
case scenarios. The group will submit this project not later than 30 May 2020, Saturday.

GROUPING : per RLE group (10 students)


Assign your team leader (for coordination and to ensure proper distribution of assigned topics)

Problems with Passenger
Problems with Power
Postpartum Hemorrhage

MECHANICS:
1. Each RLE group will be given 1 Case Abstract to analyze.
2. The RLE group must be able to present the following:
a. enumerate assessments to be done to the patient and discuss the
Significance of the findings
b. enumerate and Discuss the Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests to be done
to the patient. Discuss the significant findings and implications to the
mother and the fetus.
c. Give three (3) priority Nursing diagnoses and Nursing care plan
The NCP will follow this format:
3.1. Subjective/objective data
3.2. Nursing Diagnosis
3.3 Rationale ( should indicate book sources or references)
3.4 Goals/ objectives
3.5 Nursing interventions
3.6. Scientific rationale for the interventions
3.7. Evaluation criteria
3. The team leader will assign each member of the group a particular task/part to research on.
4. Use long bond paper ( Font: Arial-11, No spacing)
5. The written report of the group must be submitted not later than May 30, 2020
