Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow.

Azlan and Suresh had just finished their football practice. As they passed one of the empty

classrooms, they heard some boys talking. The voices sounded familiar. They were known

among the pupils in the school as bullies. Everyone was scared of them and dared not to report

their behaviour.

Suddenly, Azlan and Suresh heard a younger boy begging the bullies to let him go. They

knew those bullies were up to no good, Suresh decided to look for a teacher in the staffroom

while Azlan went to stop the bullies. When Azlan entered the room, he saw that the boy crying

and one of the bullies was about to hit him with a stick.

‘Hey, stop that!’ shouted Azlan.

‘Go away, Azlan! You can’t stop us. This boy deserves this. He won’t give us his money,’

replied one of the bullies.

‘What you are doing is wrong. Let that boy go,’ Azlan tried to talk the boys out of bullying

the boy but they burst out laughing.

Fortunately, at that moment, Suresh arrived with the discipline teacher.

Madam Lee : Children, please do not take for granted the clean water we get from our

taps every day. It actually involves a lot of processes.

Marcus : Madam Lee, can you please tell us more about the processes?

Madam Lee : It begins with the pumps in pumping station sucking water from rivers.

Read the passage below carefully and answer the questions that follow.

There was once a man named Joseph. Joseph was a diver. He dived from the

highest rock for coins or other objects that tourists threw into the sea. He was young, fit

and a good diver. Many people liked to watch him dive.

One day a young woman came to watch the divers. She liked Joseph. She threw a

few coins in the sea and watched him dive. Then, she took out a diamond ring from her

finger and said, “ I will marry the diver who find this ring.” She looked at Joseph and then

threw the ring into the sea. Many young divers including Joseph dived into the sea but

could not find it. Joseph searched for it again and again with no luck. The young woman

waited the whole evening and then she left. She tuned to look at Joseph, waved at him

and left sadly.

The next day and every day after that, Joseph and the other divers dived but

nobody found the diamond ring. Joseph thought about the young woman but she never

returned.

Many years later, when Joseph was 60 years old, he found the ring. A storm from

SENTUL: Puan Yati Leman, who has been a volunteer with the Red Crescent Society for 22

years, was commended for saving a life last week. Puan Yati, used Cardio Pulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) to save the life of Madam Zhao Hua Li. The Red Cross Society
gave

her an award for her courageous act.

According to the police, Madam Zhao had a heart attack when she was in a public

toilet last Saturday. When Puan Yati went into the toilet, she found Madam Zhao holding her
chest in pain. Since she had taken a course in CPR with the Red Crescent Society,
