List of Governors of Reserve Bank of India

The first RBI governor was British banker, Osborn Smith, while the first Indian to be the Governor of the
Reserve Bank of India was C.D. Deshmukh. The current Governor of RBI is Shashikant Das, who took
charge on December 12, 2018.
