Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of the sessions, trainees must be able to weld carbon steel pipes using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and
perform the following:
LO1. Weld carbon steel plates in Flat position (1G).
LO2. Weld carbon steel plates in Horizontal position (2G)
LO3. Weld carbon steel plates in vertical position (3G)
LO4. Weld carbon steel plates in Over Head position (4G)
Introduction:
These sessions / modules provides knowledge, skills and attitudes in welding carbon steel plates with groove in all position using
SMAW process. It also includes WPS, welding defects, welding techniques, rectifying weld defects and handling tools equipment, materials an
consumables. The trainer will explain the importance of performing and understanding this module.
