Planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old. Mankind? About one hundred and forty thousand years old.
Let me put that in perspective. If you
condense the Earth's life span into 24 hours, that's one full day, that we have been here on this planet for a mere three seconds. Three
seconds, and look what we've done. Species [that] have been here longer than us will be gone because of us in this 3 Seconds And this is
what we must recognize before it's too late Because time is the essence and only together can we make it to the fourth second We can no
longer rely on those who have polluted our air water and sea for a solution There will be no ironman coming with a super technological
fix to save the world
The is already on the verge of losing its balance. Pollution knows no bounds. For the environment to work properly and stay in balance,
one thing that could help us is to not pollute it and today, the number one pollutant is plastic. Plastic from bottles, shopping bags,
wrappers and in lots of other forms.
They are bad, destructive, non-biodegradable and well, just not cool! Plastic is to the environment what a frenemy is to you. It may look
quite useful, but with time it will only harm you and make bad things happen to you, they are vindictive. Plastic because of its non-
biodegradable nature, have already cost us a lot – water logging during the rains, bad crops because of plastic in the soil, harms aquatic
life if thrown in water and it is bad because even when it becomes waste, it does not break down under high pressure and heat unlike the
other waste materials. It cannot be destroyed, it can only be recycled and used for longer.
Maharashtra generates over 1,200 tonnes of plastic waste per day, but we don’t know how much of it is recycled,” said the state’s
Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam. Such is the state of plastic pollution in India’s second most populous state, and as a final assault
on this environmental problem and to curtail plastic pollution, Maharashtra government on passed a notification to ban a slew of plastic
items. However, this is not the first time that plastic has been banned in Maharashtra. In 2006, the government banned plastic items
below 50 microns (thickness) but it wasn’t properly implemented. The question is – will the government be able to effectively implement
the plastic ban this time, starting June 23? This time the government has been more cautious and determined to impose the ban
effectively, for which it has taken a number of measures – from sanctioning Rs 10 crore to spread awareness about the plastic ban to
conducting exhibitions, interacting with school children, setting up plastic collection centres across the state, posting actively on social
media to reach a large number of people, and imposing heavy penalties for plastic ban violations and even constituting teams to check
such [Link] I think it was a right move.
We want to tell the world that banning plastic is not a big deal, that life is not dependent on such a small thing. People who go to work,
people who do not go to work, people who are literate, people who are illiterate, all can come together and do this. The person who sells
vegetable, the person who sells branded clothes, everyone can contribute and become a bigger person. We all – the rich, the poor, the
careful and the not so careful, we all live in the same environment and we all will have to come together to save it
And for once, I am not talking only about our country, I am talking about the world. If you are someone who gets fascinated by the bigger
picture, here it is – you need to stop using plastic because if you don’t, 10-100 years down the lane, the planet will not have any natural
resources, the roads will be clogged with shit and the plants will be struggling with plastic to find a way into the soil. And if you stop
using plastic, eventually a day will come when 100 percent of people will be using a substitute for plastic and the world will still have
some hope to cling on to. I am not saying the problem will end, but the end of the problem will begin!
First of all, only India can change India. Indian political leaders and its people can change India
And You must be the change you want to see in the world
Everything if used properly is beneficial for example Grease is not dirt in the chain of the bicycle but becomes so, on the sleeve of the
shirt. Similarly plastic is valuable material for recycling if handled properly. As a first step, plastic should be reused as far as practicable.
The Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. It is the only way to save the environment from getting deteriorated. We are quickly running
out of space and now it is important to learn the three R’s of the environment and put it into practice. And we are not asking for protests
and rallies, we are just asking you to be a little more conscious about your actions.
We should try to Find eco friendlier alternatives to plastic because people used to carry goods someway or the other before the invention
of plastic If just one human being switched to reusable bags for their entire lifetime, it would remove roughly 24 thousand plastic based
bags from our planet because Every plastic recycled today promises us a better future There is no way to avoid the recycling of
plastic because just as winter is followed by spring there’s no way around to avoid the side effects of plastic if we don’t recycle it.
When it comes to plastic, the challenge is global, so the answer must be too.
If we want to change the world we need to change yourself, and the plastic ban is the first step in the right direcion
And finally We will be able get out of this mess like we’ve always gotten other things together. Togetherness is the solution that we require and
once we realize the power we have together for the second time mankind will have discovered fire and he will shine bright as a species and all of
his brilliance to survive the fourth second of the day.
We should not mock the pains that we haven’t ignored because You see the difference but the turtle doesn’t ……Be a part of the
solution and not the pollution
