Definition of Artistic Cutting


Artistic cutting or design cutting is an activity to reduce hair length by using
more than one technique and more than one tool. This artistic cutting is a
combination of more than one basic cutting pattern technique. Like, the
combination of solid patterns; back diagonal, front solid diagonal, and others.

D. Work Step
1. Analyze trimming patterns and designs
2. put a towel on the client's shoulder then do shampoo using a shampoo and
conditioner according to hair type.
3. Towel dry until the hair is moist
4. Put the towel and trimmed cape on the client.
5. Comb the client's hair to eliminate tangling.
6. Wet the client's hair using a sprayer.
7. Parting into 4 parts or according to trimming design
8. Removing the back parting hair.
9. Take the middle part and trimmed 90˚ following the direction of hair growth
by 3 reference points with zig-zag pruning techniques can be done according
to design)
10. Complete the entire back with the same technique.
11. The right and left front partings are removed and divided into 2 sections.
12. Trim by taking the back of the hair as a benchmark using thinning scissors.
13. Thinning hair with thinning scissors.
14. Do the same for the next section
