Q.1. Enumerate and discuss fundamental limitations of communication system.


Q.2. Derive the expression for Noise figure calculation.
Q.3. Draw & explain block diagram of communication system.
Q.4. Explain pre-emphasis and de-emphasis.
Q.5. Why modulation is required in communication systems?
Q.6. In a radio receiver an RF amplifier and a mixer are connected in cascade. The amplifier
has a noise figure of 15 dB and a power gain of 20 dB. The noise figure of mixer stage is
25 dB. Calculate the overall noise referred to the figure.
Q.7. Explain Internal Noise in detail.
Q.8. Enumerate advantages and disadvantages of AM over FM.
Q.9. Define AM and derive its equation for (i) Modulation index (ii) Transmitted Power.
Compare it with angle modulation also.
Q.10. Explain the Foster Seeley Discriminator method for detection of FM waves.
