IS 458 Table PDF

This document provides design and strength test requirements for reinforced concrete pipes classified as NP4, which are heavy duty non-pressure pipes. It includes requirements for minimum barrel wall thickness, longitudinal and spiral reinforcement, and load testing to produce cracking and ultimate loads for different pipe diameters ranging from 80mm to 2600mm. Notes specify requirements for spiral reinforcement material, longitudinal reinforcement length based on pipe diameter, and concrete strength.

NOTES
1. IF MILD STEEL IS USED FOR SPIRAL REINFORCEMENT, THE WEIGHT SPECIFIED UNDER COL 5
SHALL BE INCREASED TO 140/125

2. THE LONGITUDINAL REINFORCEMENT GIVEN IN THIS TABLE IS VALID FOR PIPES UP TO 2.5m
EFFECTIVE LENGTH FOR INTERNAL DIA OF PIPE UPTO 250mm AND 3m EFFECTIVE LENGTH FOR
HIGHER DIA PIPES

[Link] MASS OF LONGITUDINAL REIGNFORCEMENT SHALL BE CALCULATED BY MULTIPLYING THE

VALUES GIVEN IN COLUMN 4 BY LENGTH OF PIPE AND THEN DEDUCTING FOR THE COVER LENGTH
PROVIDED AT THE 2 ENDS

4. CONCRETE FOR PIPES SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 35 N/mm2 AT 28

DAYS.
