Narrative Report on Deworming
Domingo P. Boquiren National High School participates in the
simultaneously National School Deworming Day of Department of Health in
partnership with the Department of Education on February 04, 2020 held at
School Quadrangle.
The National Deworming Day, which targets to deworm 16 million
school children from Junior High to Senior High School in all public schools
nationwide are project of DOH in partnership with DepEd to cure the high
prevalence of student affected by intestinal parasitic infections which may lead to
cognitive impairment and malnutrition, among other complications.
The teacher makes sure that all their student especially the 4p’s
beneficiaries were present in that day so that no one can be left behind, teacher
talk to the parents of the learner to advice that all they students need to have full
stomach before entering to the school that will serve as a precautionary
measures in taking deworming medicine. Teachers facilitate the distribution of
chewable tablets to the students with the assistance of health personnel.
At the end, the said occasion was very successful with the
collaborative effort of everyone. Health and education, particularly for school-age
children, are truly closely interrelated and effective learning cannot happen
without the students being healthy.
