Academic Profile and work experience
Talking about my academic history, I had accomplished my secondary level study, also called as
School Leaving Certificate (S.L.C) from Shree Bhujauli English School located at Kha Bangain–
7, Rupandehi, Nepal, getting First Division (76.50%) in the year of June 2012 AD. Then for my
higher studies, I choose Commerce and joined Oxford English Boarding Higher Secondary School
in 2012 and completed my high school in August 2014 A.D. securing first division (63.00%).
Furthermore, to build a successful career in Information Technology (IT), I enrolled for Bachelor
program in Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) in July 2014 at R.R Institute of
Management Studies affiliated to Bangalore University (BU) and completed in May 2017 securing
first class exemplary (8.19 CGPA) which is out of total CGPA 10.00
At the end of the 6th Semester, I joined Netzary Infodynamics from June 2017 and worked
till august 2018. I came back to Nepal and started working in a company called Murphys
Technology (M Enterprises) from 02 February 2019 to till the date. I have attached my work
experience letter along my application. I studied IELTS exam at Universal Language and
computer Institute on November 2018 to Jan 2019 after that I have given IELTS test from
IDP Education Nepal in 2nd February 2019 and secured overall 6.0 Band (Listening-6,
Reading-5.5, Writing-6 and Speaking-5.5). I have attached the IELTS certificate along my
visa application.
Now I believe I am ready for my Master studies. After that I applied for the master’s in information
technology at Central Queensland University In 14th December 2018 and received the offer letter
in 1st August 2019. After that I started to prepare my financial documents, No Objection Certificate
(NOC) from Ministry of Education Nepal and now I am applying for Student Visa.
Why not Nepal as a study Destination?
Nepal’s education system mostly focuses on the theoretical part rather than the practical aspect of
the course. The main reasons behind me opting to study abroad instead of Nepal are the lack
research based and more practical learning opportunities in Nepal, apart from the very limited
number of management research faculties with global exposure.
As I am interested to understand the dynamics of organizational leadership in changing business
scenario advent by the technological changes and rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), currently
there are no such programs in this area in Nepal. Thus, if I study abroad, I’ll have the opportunity
to learn the theories along with the practical aspects of conducting research in real organizational
scenario. The education system in Australia and Nepal is completely different as education here
is more theoretical and the student don’t get to apply what they learn practically. Whereas, in
Australia the courses are more research oriented and practical.
Further, Nepalese institutions do not cover the latest courses as per the changing business
environment scenario as per the global happenings because of which we have severe lack of
faculties and resources to facilitate students and organizations alike while learning and conducting
research. Thus, in order to find better education, I have opted not stay in Nepal.
Moreover, the teaching and learning phenomenon is not technology friendly which lacks
vocational training, practical classes as well as well-equipped libraries and access to research
papers. The degree here in Nepal is not globally recognized consequently thus, creating minimal
chances of international exposure. All these factors boosted my plans for acquiring research-based
master’s degree abroad.
As I have chosen the course of my Interest, I began to research for the right university in my home
country and I found that there are three universities which are Pokhara university
http://pu.edu.np/university/, Tribhuvan University https://tribuvan-university.edu.np/ and
Purbanchal university http://prubbuniv.edu.np/, while surfing the websites, I realized that the
course or the curriculum lack the practical knowledge.. With an ambitious outlook towards my
continuing my study in the field of information technology I initiated extensive research in
different institutions offering courses relating to IT. Following my extensive research, internet
surfing and consolation with experts and peers I came across five different English-speaking
countries USA, Canada, Australia, UK and other countries.
Reasons for not choosing to study in other countries
With an Ambitious output towards continuing my studies in the field of Information Technology,
I initiated extensive research on different institutes offering courses relating with Information
Technology. Following my extensive research, internet surfing and consultation with experts and
peers, I came across the five different English-speaking countries USA, Canada, UK, Australia
and other countries.
During my research for UK, I have found that the climatic conditions of UK is variable which
changes from day to day and is very unpredictable. The average temperature in summer is around
25℃ to 15℃ and 7℃ to 0℃ in winter, which is different from normal climatic condition of Nepal
and Australia. The immigration policy changes frequently, and it harms for the international
students and cause to discontinue the study. During my research, many Nepalese students have
suffered from this. The tuition fees and living cost for post-graduate course in the UK is expensive
in comparison to Australia.
Similarly, for USA, when students want to study in the USA it took lengthy process and infeasible
visa policy. Nowadays the crime rate is increasing in USA and day by day, there are many criminal
activities happening. However, in Australia the crime rate is almost zero.
For Canada, I have found that Canada has the coldest climate than Nepal, which will be
uncomfortable for me to adapt. The tuition fees in Canada is quite expensive than Australia and
the same for living expenses too. I didn’t choose other countries like India, Finland, Germany,
Poland simply as they are not English-speaking countries.
Why Australia?
Australian education has international reputation and it is of high quality. Firstly, students have a
wide range of choice to select from over 22,000 courses in more than 1,200 institutions. Australia
is the third most popular destination for aspiring students. Australian education system promotes
innovation, creativity and independent thinking throughout its universities. International students
who study in Australia soon find that their education is challenging, fun, and rewarding. As an
international student in Australia, one can expect to live, grow and learn in a young, friendly
country full of these opportunities. For those international students who successfully complete
their degree, they will soon find that they are competitive in today’s international job market.
Furthermore, the best part is that it has one of the most brilliant education systems with wide
variety of courses which are globally recognized.
Moreover, the weather is also perfect to gain the practical knowledge and experience. All these
attracts and motivates a student like me who seek for better education, better degree, and better
life. Apart from this, Australia is culturally diversified, has friendly citizens, and high-quality
education recognized all over the world. Nevertheless, the living expense and tuition costs are
also considerably lower than that of United State and United Kingdom. During my research I
have also research the universities within united states of America and I went to the web site of
the university like: Valparaiso University where the fees per annum for the course is USD
29,235, for Southern New Hampshire University is USD 20,600 and for Northeastern
University is USD 25,856 per annum. Similarly, I went to the website of some universities
within UK and I found the annual fees of Cardiff University is Pound 21,650, for university of
Sussex is pound 20,750 and the annual fees of Kingston University of London is pound 28,200.
Similarly, in Canada I did research for Carleton University where the annual fees is CAD 22,487,
for Ontario Tech University is CAD 31,306 and for York University is 31375. After deciding to
study abroad I have done research on many universities within the different countries that I have
mentioned previously and finally I came to know that all these countries can provide equal
quality education but the dollar exchange rate within that country decided me to choose Australia
because the dollar exchange rate for UK (1 POUND= NPR 146.67), USA (1 dollar= NPR
110.46), Canada (1 dollar= NPR 82.95) and Australia (1dollar= NPR 78.58). Thus, analyzing
these data, I conclude myself that if I can get same quality education with the cost-effective ways
why not to choose Australia to continue my further education.
Likewise, Australia provides 2 years of post-study visa for students of masters like me which will
be of great help to gain the experience required to becoming a good IT Expert and it will make me
expert on this field and I can enhance my career with good financial returns. This experience
opportunity will enhance my abilities and put the theories into practice so that I will be ready and
qualified to work as a IT experts as I will have both practical as well as theoretical knowledge. The
Australian lifestyle, health, safety, degree have great values in my home country in fact in the
world, recommendation from lecturers and colleagues have inspired me to pursue my masters in
Australia. The Australian government also has created the law for the protection of the
international student which is ESOS ACT 2000 where there is not any discrimination between
local and international students. Adding to it, the crime rate in Australia is almost zero which
proves it to be a safe and secure place to live and study. These are the reasons which made me to
choose Australia over other countries for my education.
Why Central Queensland University?
After choosing Australia to peruse my master’s degree, I had to do some findings about which
university has the supreme environment and infrastructure to learn for the course that I have chosen
to embark a successful career in the future. I came across many Universities like (La Trobe
University, University of Wollongong, Curtin University, University of South Asia and Australian
Catholic University but none appealed to me as much as Central Queensland University did. The
location I fantastic in the heart of Sydney while studying master of Information Technology at
Central Queensland University cost AUD 24,921.60 per year after scholarship, the same or similar
course at Latrobe University costs AUD 30,800 per year, university of Wollongong costs AUD
16,584 per year, university of south Australia costs AUD 32,600 per year and at Curtin university
costs AUD 33,500 per year . As per my research the quality of education in all the above-
mentioned Universities are not that different so I concluded why not to go in a university which
provides the same quality in a much flexible price range.
I took into consideration the courses each of them offered, the location, environment and their
responsiveness. I also filtered according to the funding I must support to my studies. Among them
I felt Central Queensland University (CQU) would be the best for me. I found out that this
university is ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide. CQU provides quality education with
affordable fee structure. CQU was originally founded in Rock Hampton in 1976 and it was
operated as Queensland institute of technology. Just after 1992, the University started working as
Central Queensland University with the achievement of full university status. As far as my research
CQU has total of 16 campuses and they provided a diverse training and education for more than
30,000 students from worldwide starting from certificate level to post doctorate level. It has the
highest employment rate of 81.1 percent, which is one of the best results for the graduates’
outcomes. In addition to this quality indicators for learning and teaching from federal government
of Australia shows that CQU is one of the best universities that supports and enables very best
graduate employment rate and salary outcomes in comparison with the other best universities in
Australia. As far from my own research, Central Queensland University has highly advanced
facilities with quality of education. Likewise, it provides specialist academic support as well as
range of career-oriented services to the students. Due to these reasons, I believe Central
Queensland University is the best destination for my further studies in Australia. CQU also offers
extensive support services such as academic learning center is University’s one-stop-shop for
information, support, advice and resources related to many of the study requirements in academic
writing, mathematics, science and computing. Similarly, career support offers their graduates and
students in achieving our career development professional aspirations through career education,
guidance and information. The team is dedicated to helping us build our employability and job
search skills in the career that we choose and welfare support will offers airport pickup,
accommodation assistance, enrolment and orientation for the new students, disability support
service, student advocacy and academic support such as academic learning center, monitoring
academic progress, and workshop as well as career support like 10 weeks internship, job
application skills which will be beneficial to international students like me. With all the above-
mentioned reasons, here I came to decide that CQ University, Sydney is the best University for me
to pursue my further degree in Australia.
Why Master of Information Technology major in software development and design
Being a graduate of Bachelor of Computer Application and having a worked for 2 years in an IT
Company, I am very much interested to continue my education in Master of Information
Technology as the subjects that I am going to pursue is directly relevant to my previous study.
Theoretical knowledge of college and real time experience of IT Company has flourished a lot of
IT skills in me. But technology today is changing in such a speed that it has been difficult to catch
up.
There’s a huge range of challenges. Computer technology affects nearly everything now including
biotechnology, nanotechnology, robotics, etc. IT covers the application of computing that are
required by both small and large business companies. The course structure offered by the CQU is
according to my interest and which is not offered by the universities of Nepal. So, I have chosen
to study at CQUniversity, Sydney that offered 2 years course. The courses are professional skills
in Information Systems Analysis and Design, Project Management Concepts, Responsive Web
Design, Database Design and Development, Mobile Web Apps, Mobile Game Development. This
course will help me acquire a deeper knowledge of Information Technology. By studying the
Master of Information Technology at CQUniversity I will boost my career advancement prospects
and provide a competitive advantage when seeking employment. If I’m an established or aspiring
information technology (IT) professional the Master of Information Technology will expand my
professional knowledge and skills in information technology (IT).
The course will provide me with a combination of leading-edge theory and the chance at hands-
on-experience to prepare me for a successful career in IT. The specialty majors in this course focus
on mobile application development, software design and development and networks and
information security these are supported by an available minor in project and program
management. This course is designed to provide you with up-to-date knowledge on how to manage
the technical, organizational and economic issues involved in the management of information
technology (IT) resources and system. All units have been aligned to the Australian Computer
Society (ACS) core body of knowledge. During my study period the major subjects that I am going
to study are like Mobile Application Development, Networks and Information Security, Software
Design and Development and Minors are Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems and
Analysis, Mobile Application Development, Networks and Information Security and Software
Design and Development.
Future Career Opportunities
After the completion of my degree in Australia I will be eligible to get the PSW opportunity where
I can use my learnt knowledge and skills in my related field within Australia. I will also be learning
about different skills like communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills,
adaptability, self-reliance and so on during my study period in my institution. For that I went to
the different job portal of Australia like www.seek.com.au, www.indeed.com.au . write company
names and write benefit of PSW
After gaining some practical experience from Australia, I will return to my home country Nepal,
the scope of my chosen course in Nepal is very huge because Information Technology is a fast-
growing subject and have a wide range of scope that constantly needs new professionals.
Previously in Nepal there were only few numbers of companies like Deer Walk, verisk,
cloudfactory, javra and others who handle the IT sectors in Nepal, In those days government and
banks where in scarcity of IT department for their works. But as in today there are more than 50
popular IT Companies in Nepal who works in different sectors like app development, networking
and communications, web development, media and game development, cyber security and so on.
These company works with the government, banks, private companies and social companies in
their own IT department so an IT student can easily find their way to IT world through these
companies and can find himself. There are wide variety of career positions which are required
within the company that one can work in, depending on our interests and skills. As I will be holding
an International master’s degree, I can work in position such as IT/ Network Support, WordPress
Developer, Senior Database Administrator, IOS Developer. I can search employment in the
various organization through www.jobsnepal.com, www.merojob.com, www.jobejee.com,
ramrojob.com and many others. Among different position mentioned above, I am more interested
to work as an IOS Developer. I can seek opportunities as a software developer in IT companies
like Xenatech Nepal Pvt. Ltd F1soft etc. I can work as computer/IT specialist in Yomari, cloud
factory, percoid, fusemachines Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Telecommunication and Network Service
Providers companies in Nepal where I can work as IT officer, Software Engineer, IOS developer,
full stack developer and even in reputed banks where I can work as IT Expert/Analyst. Where I
can secure jobs with starting salary of around NPR 45,000 and will be increasing over NPR 80,000
in certain months. During my research on job prospects, I discovered that an individual who
completes his degree in Nepal is getting an initial monthly salary of around NPR 22,000 whereas
an international degree holder is earing around NPR 40,000 per month which is almost doubled.
There is no doubt that, I will get very quality and professional life after getting degree from CQU
in my home country. I will also get some practical skills, knowledge and experience during my
internship program that will be provided by the Central Queensland University.
It has just been a couple of years since Nepal has moved towards federalism, consequently, banks,
financial institutions, and businesses have rapidly started expanding their presences in more part
of the country and there are the huge demand of IT professional here back in Nepal. In addition to
it, different multinational companies are emerging in Nepal such as in the field of IT like Versend
technology, Leapfrog, F1soft international pvt. ltd, etc. Similarly, in hospitality sector big
companies like Marriott has been added in the hospitality industry sector of Nepal and many more
are in the pipeline. With the growth in several industries of Nepal I can visualize great
opportunities available after the completion of my degree. Besides, Nepal lies in between two
giants, China and India which can directly or indirectly improve the economy of Nepal as well.
With it, Nepal possesses great potential for economic growth. As a proof, Asian Development
Bank has created a comparative economic forecasts for South Asian countries for 2019 where
Nepal is in the second place with the forecast of 7.1% GDP growth rate, just behind Bangladesh
with 8.1% (https://www.adb.org/countries/nepal/economy). And the demand for local experts has
grown even more creating more job opportunities for IT professionals. With internationally
recognized and valued degrees, world exposure and experience in accounting, I can enjoy better
opportunities in Nepal. On top of that, Nepal is a developing country that requires enough skilled
manpower to continue growing but deals with a shortage of such individuals which makes the
limited qualified professionals even more valuable to the country.
Incentives to return to Nepal
I’m the only son of my father and that is the responsibility to look after my parents and my parents
also owns the property and as being only son that is my responsibility to take care of the property
as it will transfer to my name after that. After finishing my degree, I want to return to my country
and commit myself to work on mobile application development and software development.
I want to develop them in cheaper price so that every company, person will have their own
application instead of sites, blog, etc. I want to make possible for each government office to have
their own mobile apps and provide all the information in it that will save lots of time of normal
people. Besides, I can implement the experience, knowledge and skills gained from Australia to
various organizations here in my own country, which will allow me to create jobs to my fellow
citizens. My parents also have a property and that is the sole responsibility of mine to take care of
the property as those property is going to transfer to my name after my parents.
