On March 21, 2018 in the morning, all of the senior high school students are
required to go to the New Gym Newsite for the research festival. Around 9am in
the morning, the emcee announced the researchers as well as the topic of their
research, after that they let us roam and see all of the researchers presentation.
At 10 in the morning, we went to the senior high building for the formal
presentation of the researchers.
I choose to go and watch to the research about the solar lamp because it is
interesting to know what it can do. I was with my classmates and we listen
together and share our own opinions about the lamp. Some of my classmates
asked questions and the researchers answered their questions well.
The lamp is very convenient since this does not need electricity and you can carry
it everywhere you go. The lamp can also be a big help especially for those people
who does not have electricity. The researcher told us that the lamp can stand the
water. It also detects motion from people and the light will last 30 seconds from
the last motion that it has detected. They also told us the disadvantages and
advantages of having the solar lamp, which I can’t remember
All I can say is the researchers did a good job and their presentation is
understandable. After the presentation the adviser of the researchers gave an
award to them. 12 in the afternoon we ate lunch then. 1pm, the teachers invited
the students to go back in the senior high building. And the presentation
continues. 3pm in afternoon we went to the newsite gym for the closing program
of research festival. It was a very inspiring day it thought me a lot. I have gained
lots of information. The research festival proves to me that conducting a research
is not so easy.

REFLECTION
“Ang Hungihung sa Liking Kawayan”
As far as historical records show, no society or nation has been immune to
discrimination, either as victim or victimiser, other are many forms of
discrimination, besides the more familiar forms like race and gender, based on
ethnicity ,religion, sexual orientation, age, disability or handicap, and sexual
harassment those characterisation refers to a situation of the direct
discrimination.
The play of the grade 12 art and design student is all about feminism it’s all about
people is treated adversely directly on the basis of a prohibited ground. Our world
has always been faced with the problem of discrimination. It is one of the most
discussed topics nowadays and throughout history. Discrimination can be
confused with other term such as prejudice and stereotype. Many people
nowadays suffers from discrimination especially women.
Women’s discrimination is much far from being a local issue in a certain part of
the world. Women suffer from discrimination, violence and sexual harassment
because women most of the times are thought to be less competent than men
because of their physical structures. Women’s are not only discriminated in the
developing countries because of the lack of “Sophistication”, women are also
being discriminated in the developed countries. Discrimination against women in
the UK is “deeply ingrained”. However, as a matter of fact, gender or women’s
discrimination has made a big argument in the society.

On April 2018, an exhibit was conducted at St. Paul University Surigao.
Grade 11 students were asked to attend to the exhibit and they were obliged to
pay for the ticket. Lots of students attended the exhibit. There were three
stations for the exhibit.
The first station is all about our planet and he outer space. There they
showed us different type of things that uses light, sound, electricity. There were
different pictures that is also is also in the room, like the shark and the snow bear.
We also discussed about the gravity and who discovered it. But the most talked
topic was about the telescope that scientist use to see the outer space and what
it is consist. They also present us some of the astronauts food in the outer space.
The second station is all about the human activities and how it affects the
other living creature in the planet. It is a short film presented by the facilitators.
What makes this station interesting is that it uses 3D glasses. The students can
really feel the movie and the creatures inside it. It’s like you’re really inside the
movie. And it gives us lots of knowledge about us humans being reckless of what
we’re doing with nature. We really must be careful because it will affect the other
creatures too.
The third part, which is the last part, as held at the AVR. There they showed
us the world behind every camera and every movie. It is truly amazing for the fact
that people are able to make another world with just using a green cloth which is
called the “green screen”. Selected students are able to experience on how to be
an artist and to be a great dancer. And when the facilitators showed us the
finished product, it is amazing. Not totally amazing but it is amazing.
As a student it is a great experience and knowledgeable. It is full of new
ideas and information that students can use in the near future.
