St Augustine’s Primary School Bulletin: 6th December 2010

• Thank you to everyone for persevering during this difficult week. It is always a difficult decision as to
whether to close the school. As far as possible, especially when conditions could continue for days, I
think it is important to try and stay open. However, I am mindful that if staff or parents believe it is too
dangerous for them to travel into school, then I will respect this decision.
• Any requests for extra resources should be made to me and then I will, if I feel it is appropriate, contact
the PSA. At the moment, members of staff are approaching members of the PSA and asking them to
purchase various items. The PSA has a limited budget and has targeted its money on a new interactive
whiteboard for Reception. Mrs Marshall will be coming to talk to teachers in January and we will
introduce a proforma for specific funding requests.
• Thank you to all the staff who have helped decorate the Infant and Junior hall so beautifully.
• SO FAR ONLY 12 MEMBERS OF STAFF WISH TO HAVE CHRISTMAS DINNER. PLEASE LET
INFANT OR JUNIOR OFFICE KNOW BY MONDAY.
• Natalie Holden has had her operation which was very successful and she should be out of hospital
today. She will hopefully be able to return after Christmas. Natalie wanted to thank everyone for their
good wishes and prayers.
• This week Mrs Brannan, Display Co-ordinator, will be based in the Infant Department. Please fill in a
request in the book in the Infant Office if you need help preparing displays, putting up displays etc.
• Please note netball has changed from Tuesday to Wednesday, but when the matches start they will be
at Redbridge Sports Centre on a Tuesday.
