WAT C H COLLECTION
ORIENT WATCH is a Japanese
watch manufacturer with many
years of history.
It has long produced
high-quality watches globally.
ORIENT WATCH has manufactured watches for more than 60 years,
since its founding in 1950.
Its watches are now worn in more than 70 countries.
The company offers high-quality products in a range of categories.
In particular, mechanical watches have always been its core products.
What is a mechanical watch?
A mechanical watch is powered solely by a mainspring, without using
electric power.
In a hand-wound mechanical watch, the movement’s mainspring is wound
by winding the crown. The mainspring of a self-winding mechanical watch
stores energy and is wound by the movement of the wrist on which it is
worn.
While a quartz watch (powered by a battery) moves automatically, a
mechanical watch does not move without human power.
The “movement”, made up of hundreds of parts, can be called the “heart” of
the mechanical watch.
The winding of the spring causes the “heart” to beat, and this human-
like quality is one of the unique beauties of the mechanical watch, which
continues to be loved around the world.

How the mechanical watch Cross-section diagram
movement operates
A mechanical watch is composed of precision parts which are carefully
assembled by an experienced craftsman. The movement is the heart of the Mainspring
watch. What type of structure and motion does the movement employ to Gear train (fourth wheel, third wheel, power

maintain the required accuracy?

Self-winding mechanical
watch mechanism
A self-winding mechanical watch is different from its hand-wound
counterpart as it is unnecessary to wind the crown. By moving the wrist,
on which the watch is worn, the rotor rotates inside the watch, resulting
in winding the mainspring. Therefore, as long as the self-winding watch is
worn on the wrist, the watch will continue moving.

Attraction of Mechanical Watches
Three benefits make mechanical watches attractive.
♦ Clean and eco-friendly
Mechanical watches are eco-friendly.
They do not use batteries because they are powered by kinetic energy generated by the movement of the wrist in daily
life or the winding of the crown.
♦ Ready to use
These watches can be used immediately just by winding them, even after long intervals.
♦ Emotional value
Allowing a periodic maintenance gives the watches a long life, creating an emotional value through family ties across generations.

Maintenance guide for mechanical watches
Mechanical watches work based
on the power of the spring
The watch is operated using the power of a unwinding spring that
is wound manually or automatically. By maintaining the winding
of the spring, accuracy is preserved.
The spring is wound by wrist movement
In a mechanical watch, the necessary time to wind the spring
sufficiently is 8 to 10 hours when the watch is worn on the wrist.
When the spring is unwound,
the watch stops but this is not a failure
Even if the spring is wound all the way, the watch stops
in case you don’t wind the spring for about two days manually or
automatically.

*About the hand-winding mechanism,
you can wind the mainspring by turning the crown.

or slow, check the average error of one week, not how many seconds in one day.
