ABSOLIN GAUZE PAD
Description
Absolin is an absorbent, low-adherent dressing. It contains an absorbent core of fine cotton,
sandwiched between a woven gauze wound contact layer and a textured fluid repellent non-woven
backing layer. The edges of the pad are sealed to prevent the loss of fabric from the absorbent core.
The hydrophobic backing prevents strike-through and thus protects clothing or bed linen from
contamination by wound fluid. The lightweight woven gauze wound contact layer is absorbent,
and therefore will take up blood or exudates and will allow fluid to pass freely into the dressing.
It also acts as an interface layer which reduces the possibility of the dressing from adhering to a
drying wound.

Indications
The dressing is designed to absorb and retain large volumes of wound exudate and is therefore
indicated for the treatment of childbirth cases where most types of moderate to heavily exuding
wounds are present. Absolin may be used under compression bandaging (STERI-PORE) although the
fluid handling properties will be reduced when the dressing is subjected to pressure.

Contra-indications
The manufacturer has identified no absolute contra-indications to the use of Absolin.

Method of use
If clinically indicated, the wound should be cleaned in accordance with current nursing practice,
and the surrounding skin thoroughly dried. A suitable primary dressing should be placed on the
surface of the wound if required and a suitably sized Absolin applied, ensuring an overlap of at
least one centimetre on to the surrounding skin. Once in position the dressing may be held in place
with a bandage or other suitable retention aid like STERI-PORE.

Frequency of Change
The interval between changes will normally be determined by the amount of wound liquid produced.
If the condition of the wound deteriorates, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Warnings
The presence of clinical infection does not preclude the use of Absolin provided that the dressing is
changed frequently and appropriate antimicrobial therapy is also provided. Absolin should not be
used on individuals with a known sensitivity to the dressing or one of its components. The dressing
must not be cut, or shaped to fit around drains etc., as this will lead to the loss of fine cotton pulp.

Presentation
Absolin is supplied individually wrapped in polyethylene pouches, sterilised by ethylene oxide.

CREPE BANDAGES
Description
Crepe Bandages consists of a cotton fabric of plain weave with a degree of elasticity that is
imparted by the presence of twisted cotton yarns. The bandage may be washed if required and when
allowed to dry naturally, loosely folded, it will regain some of its original elasticity.

Indications
Crepe Bandages is used for the application of light pressure and support in the treatment of
sprains and strains, and varicose veins, and as a support to aid rehabilitation following orthopaedic
surgery. It was also used historically in conjunction with a suitable primary dressing, such as a
zinc paste bandage, for the treatment of varicose ulcers although other more elastic products
are now available that are more suitable for this application.

Contra-indications
In common with all extensible bandages, Crepe Bandages should be used with caution on patients
who have marked ischaemia or impaired arterial blood supply.

Method of use
When applied to a leg, the bandage should be held with the bulk roll facing upwards. Working
from the inner aspect of the leg, a single turn is made over the top of the foot around the base
of the toes to secure the bandage, and a second turn taken up to the base of the heel. After
making a figure-of-eight around the ankle, the bandage is applied up the leg, with each turn
overlapping the previous one by 50%. Once in place, it may be fastened with safety pins or tape, as
appropriate. Care should be taken to ensure that the bandage does not cause a tourniquet effect
at the knee, and the operator should ensure that a pressure gradient exists beneath the bandage,
with the highest levels of pressure at the ankle.

Frequency of Change
In critical applications where the control of sub-bandage pressure is important, the bandage
should be reapplied or replaced as frequently as practicable. In other situations, it is not
uncommon for a bandage to be left undisturbed for up to 5-7 days, although there is little doubt
that, at the end of this time, the residual pressure beneath the bandage will be only a fraction of
the original application pressure.

Presentation
Crepe Bandages is presented individually shrink-wrapped.

STERI-TIN ANTIBIOTIC TULLE / ROLL
Description:
Steri-Tin Tulle consists of a cotton leno-weave fabric, impregnated with a base composed of white soft
paraffin, anhydrous lanolin, and 1.0% w/w framycetin sulphate. Framycetin is an antibiotic of the
aminoglycoside group with a wide spectrum of antibacterial activity. Organisms sensitive to framycetin
include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherischia coli, Klebsiella species, and some strains of Pseudomonas
aeruginosa; it is not active against yeasts, fungi or viruses.

The dressing is used as a primary wound contact layer in the management of infected wounds,
combining low adherence with antimicrobial activity.

Indications
Steri-Tin Tulle may be used in the management of wounds, including minor traumatic injuries, ulcers,
burns, scalds, abrasions, lacerations, crush injuries, diabetic ulcers, skin grafting,
pressure sores grazes (gravel rash), bites (animals & insects), colostomies, surgical wounds
and other lesions that are clinically infected by organisms shown to be sensitive to framycetin.

Contra-indications
Steri-Tin Tulle is contra-indicated in patients who are allergic to lanolin, or who have previously
demonstrated a sensitivity to framycetin, neomycin, or any other chemically related product.
The dressing should not be used in the treatment of wounds that are free of clinical infection, or infected by
organisms that are resistant to the antibiotic.

Method of use
The wound should be cleansed with a suitable sterile solution, such as normal saline; a single layer of
Steri-Tin Tulle should then be applied and covered with an absorbent pad, held in place with tape or a
bandage, as appropriate. When used to dress ulcers, Steri-Tin Tulle should be shaped to fit the crater
and not allowed to extend over the surrounding skin.

Frequency of Change
The frequency of dressing changes will depend entirely upon the nature of the wound, but infected
wounds that are exuding heavily should be dressed at least once a day.

Warnings
Cross-sensitisation to framycetin may occur in patients known to be allergic to chemically
related antibiotics (such as neomycin and kanamycin). In normal use, absorption of the antibiotic from
Steri-Tin Tulle is negligible; however, where large areas of the body are being treated,
the possibility of ototoxicity caused by prolonged application should be considered.

Presentation
Pack Shot Steri-Tin Tulle is presented individually wrapped in an aluminium peel pouch,
manufactured under aseptic conditions.

Storage
Steri-Tin Tulle should be stored in a cool place.

• Individually packed sterile dressing.

• Painless to remove.
• Wide antibacterial coverage.
• Avoid damage to granulation tissue.
• Active against common skin pathogens.
• Remains active in presence of pus, blood & serum.

SEPTA-CHLOR ANTISEPTIC TULLE / ROLL
Description
Septa-Chlor Tulle consists of a cotton leno-weave fabric, impregnated with Soft Paraffin BP,
containing 0.5% w/w Chlorhexidine Acetate BP. Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent that is active
against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria but inactive against spores, fungi
and viruses. it is more effective against Gram-positive than Gram-negative organisms, and some
species of Pseudomonas and Proteus are of limited sensitivity.

Indications
Septa-Chlor Tulle is used as a wound dressing for the prevention of infection in minor skin loss
injuries and ulcerative wounds. It is not the product of choice for the treatment of existing wound
infections as the amount of chlorhexidine that is released from the dressing is limited, but Septa-
Chlor Tulle may be used as an adjunct to systemic antibiotic therapy where appropriate.
to reduce the incidence of infection in surgical, traumatic & ulcerative wounds & other skin
conditions.
for already infected wounds, the dressing can be used in conjunction with other topical
& systemic antibacterial agents.

Contra-indications
Septa-Chlor Tulle is contra-indicated in patients who are known to be hypersensitive to
chlorhexidine.

Method of use
Prior to the application of the dressing, the wound should be cleansed with a sterile solution of
normal saline. A single layer of Septa-Chlor Tulle is then applied and covered with an absorbent
pad, held in place with tape or a bandage, as appropriate.

Frequency of Change
The frequency of dressing changes will depend entirely upon the nature of the wound, but wounds
considered at risk of infection should be dressed daily.

Presentation
Septa-Chlor Tulle is presented individually wrapped in peel pouches, sterilised by gamma radiation.

Storage
Septa-Chlor Tulle should be stored in a cool place below 25 oC.

LENOFIN PARAFFIN GAUZE
Description
Lenofin consists of a leno-weave fabric of cotton or cotton and viscose, which has been
impregnated with yellow soft paraffin. The dressing is used as a primary wound contact layer and
the paraffin is present to reduce the adherence of the product to the surface of a granulating wound.

Indications
Lenofin is used as a primary wound contact layer in the treatment of burns, ulcers, skin grafts
(both donor and receptor sites), and a variety of traumatic injuries.

Contra-indications
Although there are no absolute contra-indications to the use of Lenofin, if the dressing is placed
upon a heavily exuding wound its semi-occlusive nature may cause tissue maceration by preventing
the free movement of exudate away from the surface of the wound. This is less likely to occur
than if a dressing bearing the higher loading of paraffin were to be used.

Method of use
Lenofin is applied directly to the surface of the wound and covered with an absorbent pad held in
place with tape or a bandage, as appropriate.

Frequency of Change
The frequency of dressings changes will depend entirely upon the nature of the wound. If Lenofin
is left in position for prolonged periods of time, it can become adherent and cause tissue damage
upon removal.

Presentation
Lenofin is presented in a pack of 30 dressings.
Lenofin is presented individually wrapped in a paper/polyethylene peel pouch,
sterilised by irradiation.

Storage
Lenofin should be stored in a cool place.

STERI-PORE ADHESIVE FIX ROLL
Description
Steri-pore consists of an apertured, non-woven polyester fabric coated with a layer of an acrylic
adhesive, and protected on the roll by a release paper backing. The apertured structure imparts a
degree of lateral extensibility and conformability to the product, which has a high tensile strength
and must be cut with scissors. Steri-pore is available in a range of widths and is sometimes referred
to as a `dressing retention sheet'. Because the tape is permeable to water vapour, it is unlikely to
cause tissue maceration or be adversely affected by sweating. As both the fabric and the adhesive
mass are radio-transparent, Steri-pore does not have to be removed if the patient is to be X-rayed.

Indications
The high tensile strength and conformability of Steri-pore make it ideally suited for securing
catheters and drainage tubes in position, and for the retention of dressings on joints or awkward
body contours. It is particularly useful for retaining dressings on the sacral region in the
management of pressure sores. Steri-pore in common with other dressing retention sheets can also
be used to produce island dressings with absorbent pads or hydrogel sheets, and probably
represents the best method for applying these types of product. As the tape is coated with an
acrylic adhesive system, it may generally be used on patients who have exhibited an adverse reaction
to adhesives containing rubber, or resin. The polyester fabric is very “wear-resistant”: once
applied, it may be left in position for prolonged periods, if required.

Contra-indications
Steri-pore should not be applied to patients who are known to be sensitive to acrylic adhesives or
who have fragile or easily damaged skin.

Method of use
The required length of Steri-pore is cut from the roll and the backing sheet removed. Care
should be taken to ensure that the tape is not applied under tension; if used over a joint, it is
recommended that Steri-pore be orientated so that the direction of maximum extensibility of the
fabric coincides with the direction of movement of the limb.

Frequency of Change
The frequency of dressing changes will be governed by the condition of the underlying wound.

Warnings
Care should be taken to ensure that Steri-pore
is not applied under tension, to prevent shearing
forces causing damage to the skin.

Storage
In common with all adhesive products,
Steri-pore should be stored in a cool dry place,
and not subjected to extremes of temperature
or humidity.

FUSILIN ANTIBIOTIC TULLE
DESCRIPTION
Fusilin consists of a cotton leno-weave fabric, impregnated with a base composed of white soft paraffin,
anhydrous lanolin, cetyl alcohol and liquid paraffin containing 2% sodium fusidate. Fusidic acid is a
potent topical antibacterial agent that is both water and fat soluble with the ability to penetrate intact skin.
It is active against nearly all strains of Staphylococcus aureus, and topical applications are also effective
against Streptococci, Corynebacteria, Neisseria and some species of Clostridia. The dressing is used
as a primary wound contact layer in the management of infected wounds, combining low
adherence with antimicrobial activity.

INDICATIONS
Fusilin may be used in the treatment of wound infections caused by sensitive strains of S. Aureus,
Streptococcus spp and Corynebacterium minutissimum, including minor traumatic injuries, ulcers, burns,
and other lesions that are clinically infected by organisms shown to be sensitive to fusidic acid and it salts.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
The dressing should not be used in the treatment of wounds that are free of clinical infection, or for the
treatment of infections caused by non-susceptible organisms, in particular, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Fusilin is also contra-indicated in patients who are hypersensitive to fusidic acid and its salts.

METHOD OF USE
The wound should be cleansed with a suitable sterile solution, such as normal saline; a single layer of
Fusilin should then be applied and covered with STERIBAND GAUZE PAD, held in place with
tape or a bandage, as appropriate.

Packing
In case of pharmaceutical products, perhaps more than anywhere else, packaging makes a lot
of difference. It has to guarantee product stabilities within specified time frames, ensure safe
& secure storage and transport of the product until final use.
Apart from preserving product itself, packaging offers important features like child resistance,
tamper evidence, protection against counterfeiting as well as increased patient convenience.
We are a winner through our selection of appropriate packaging for each of our products.
We also offer customized packages to our customers to achieve the market intensive needs

Future Plan and International Business
We are looking to expand to such parts of the world where we believe we can
find business partners who are not only interested in importing our products to
their home countries but also forging a long-term mutually viable and gainful relationship.
We seek to establish and maintain our presence in countries in the Far East,
Middle East and the African continent where the need of healthcare products is on a
higher side and we see a gap in the demand
fulfillment of the masses in these regions with a belief that we can fulfill this chasm.
The surgical dressings segment, in which we operate continue to represent
a good share of revenues in the pharmaceutical industry the world over.
With highest quality at affordable cost, our products are an ideal as much
for the people in international markets as they are for
those in Pakistan.
