Attendance Contract

Attendance Meeting Tier I Contract

Attendance is a key factor in student achievement and therefore, students are expected to be
present and on time, each day school is in session. It is required as part of Greene County
School’s Truancy Intervention Plan to conference with the student and the parent or guardian
to develop an attendance contract that includes:
1. A specific description of the school’s attendance expectations for the student.
2. The period for which the contract is in effect.
3. The consequences for additional absences and alleged school offenses. This may include
any disciplinary action and could result in a referral to Juvenile Court.
School Attendance Expectations:
Each student is to be present and on time to school each day unless the student provides
appropriate written documentation explaining the reason for the absence/tardy.
Refer to Greene County Schools Board of Education attendance policy.

Consequences for additional absences:


The student will move to Tier II of the Truancy Intervention Plan. This will include:
1. A letter of notification to the parents of additional unexcused absences.
2. An individualized assessment by a school employee of the reasons a student has
continued to be absent.
3. If necessary, the student can be referred to counseling, involvement with community-
based services, or other in-school or out-of-school services aimed at addressing the
student’s attendance problems.
