Writing this report after 45 days interning as an official staff in HR management
department at Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd, I was thankful and lucky
having an opportunity to work in an active, friendly, as well as challenging

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The core objective of the internship is to fulfill the requirement of the MBA program
as prescribed by the MVN University. An intern has to prepare project report at the
end of the internship period but the main objective of the internship is to get the
hands-on experience of the real-world organization. The internship was completed
with the objective of getting practical knowledge in the HR department of
“Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd.”
The first responsibility I was assigned the flow chart of Company executive
designation in different states and religions. In this, Employees (Name, Designation
and their location) is described in diagram with the help of spreadsheet.
The second responsibility I was assigned to make the Increment and Resignation
letters with proper brief on letter head.
The third responsibility was to make flow chart of Products of different
departments with their employee’s description during my internship program.
The fourth responsibility was to make Probation Tracker in which we specified the
extension and confirmation of such employees with (Date of joining, Head Quarter,
Proposed date, and Extension date).
The fifth responsibility was to visit in Production department to reach about some
specific knowledge regarding machines (types of machine with their minimum and
maximum output and usage of time).
The Last responsibility is to interact or communicate with different employees of
different State regarding the issue of low performance in work from few months.
As an intern, I realized that I was successful to gather a lot of significant learning
experiences which would be helpful in my future career. The HR department of
Maharishi offered me ample space and opportunities, not only to learn but also to
exhibit my skills as a HR team member. I could use my theoretical knowledge of HR
in real practice while participating in many discussions. I successfully completed all
the assigned duties and handed them over to the senior. These lessons that I have
learned will be a valuable one for my future endeavors as well.

CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND:
MVN University is the conscientious learning center where students at
different levels prepare to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st
century. It offers premier graduate program of Masters of Business
Administration (MBA) which requires the students to complete internship
program. After the completion of internship, the students are required to
prepare a project report on a topic relevant to the work they were assigned
during the internship.
An intern has to prepare project report at the end of the internship period but the
main objective of the internship is to get the hands-on experience of the real-world
organization. It also helps to develop the skills required to handle the day to day
operation in an organization. This will allow the students to be prepared for the
upcoming corporate challenges by experiencing real time working environment.
Upon subsequent research to find the best suitable organization to match both my
major and area of interest, I selected the HR-Department supremely known for its
well-defined quality services-Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. This internship
program was approved by MVN University Palwal.

1.2 OBJECTIVES:

The Faculty of Management, MVN University has its ultimate objectives of


preparing students for professional pursuits of business, industry and government.
The core objective of the internship is to fulfill the requirement of the MBA program
as prescribed by the MVN University.
Apart from this, the internship was completed with the objective of getting
practical knowledge in the HR department of Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd.
More specifically, the objectives of the internship were as under:

• To gain practical experience of the jobs carried out in the HR Department of


Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd.
• Clarify personal interests, skills, and competencies, and their implementation
toward development of career goals.
• To gain ideas from the experienced people working for HR department.
• To understand the challenges faced by the HR department.
• To understand the different types of training provided to the employees.
• Development of personal standards of professional and ethical behavior required
in the workplace.
•Assumption of responsibility for continued learning and professional

1.41INTRODUCTION TO MAHARISHI AYURVEDA PRODUCTS


PVT. LTD.

Maharishi Ayurveda comes as the fulfillment of the worldwide search for a more
effective system of health, which is free from harmful side effects, is prevention
oriented and capable of eliminating disease and its source. It gives a modern insight
into ancient system. Maharishi Ayurveda describes health as perfect balance of the
three Doshas and imbalance as basic cause of all diseases. Maharishi Ayurveda
eliminates imbalance from the most fundamental level of life, pure consciousness
and re-establishes the natural interconnections of consciousness and physiology,
behavior and environment. Health in this context is defined as perfect balance and
wholeness of life. Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 1986
under Maharishi’s Global Plan. It is a comprehensive and scientific system of
natural health care under the direct inspiration of his holiness Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi. The goals of Maharishi Ayurveda are to preserve health, thereby creating an
enlightened individual and a disease-free society. It would be appropriate to say
that Maharishi Ayurveda Products is a research-based organization and many of its
products have undergone Research/clinical trials in India as well as abroad.
Maharishi Amrit-Kalash is one of the most extensively researched Ayurveda
preparation with extremely encouraging results from Holland, U.S.A, Switzerland &
Japan.

The company is presently engaged in the manufacturing of Ayurveda formulations,


food supplements and ayurvedic-medicines . In the form of tablets, syrups, oils
and pastes. It is also manufacturing a range of products for personal care,
cosmetics, teas, coffee substitutes, food and beverages, in accordance to the
guidelines of Ayurveda.

The Heads Office of Maharishi Ayurveda is at New Delhi and the manufacturing
activity of MAP is presently at two units at Noida, SEZ and Faridabad and has total
employee strength of over 800.

The philosophy of Maharishi Ayurveda is based upon the fact that it needs the
windows of modern science to appreciate the full dignity and potential of holistic
concepts that governed Ayurveda through centuries.

The factory is equipped with the latest machinery in pharmaceutical production


and employs state of art technology to ensure a high degree of quality production
confirming to the highest international standards. It has its own research and
development center recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,
Ministry of Sciences and Technology, Government of India. Having its recognized
in-house R & D setups it has developed linkage between eminent medical
institutions in India and abroad.

and different alternatives with medicine i.e. Yoga classes and other beneficial

there anything we can do for you this time that we didn’t do last time?

1.4.9 AREA OF OPERATION:

During the 45 days of internship period in the organization as an intern work under
HR Department and understand the corporate culture of a Maharishi Ayurveda
Products Pvt. Ltd. and also bring in some fresh ideas to the department. My
specialization in MBA internship in HRD. I was fortunate enough to have the
program in such a well-staffed.

1.5 Human Resource Department:


The Human Resource Department has broadly classified the functions into two
topics of What We Believe and What We Do.
 What We Believe:

We believe in professional hospitality service for profit. Our Human Resources


philosophy is to provide employee recruitment and retention programs which
produce optimum employee satisfaction and performance. We are enablers
that support people in reaching their full potential by giving managers and
employees the tools to develop and succeed in their roles.

 What We Do:

 HR representatives initiate partnerships with all managers and supervisors


of the company in order to serve all parties in the best interest of the
company.
 HR representatives have a coaching role to all employees, without creating
"The doctor is in" syndrome. Thus, our role is always to go to the source of
the issue, while limiting our role as counselor.
 The Corporate HR and Legal staff are resources to consult when confronted
with issues, or when outside feedback may be seen as beneficial.

 HR Representatives should develop business strategies that are in alignment


with the company’s objectives, by focusing on all aspects of the human asset.
 HR Representatives should be continuously improving the HR practices of the
company, by keeping a pulse of the company's culture as well as being aware
of what is current in our industry.

CHAPTER II: ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

2.1 Activity:
Staff Product Purchase Scheme (SPPS), Medical Insurance Data Sheet Update,
assist for "Train The Trainer (TTT)" training program.
The first responsibility I was assigned on this 45 days of internship period was to
search on Kasni Cough Syrup.
To make call to the employees to consult about their key issues who are facing in
their work as low performance during my Internship program.

2.1.1 Introduction:
The HR Department deals with the management of people within the organization.
The department is responsible for attracting employees, designating them in their
positions and ensuring their performances. All the employees' record is retrieved
from the System for Time and Recording and is updated every day. The attendance,
annual leaves, casual leaves, sick leaves, complimentary leaves etc. are also
updated on a daily basis into the system. There are various activities in the HRD
that make the Senior Assistant and Senior Supervisor occupied the entire day. HR
also handles the Intra Department trainings, Supervisor Training Programmed
sheet and employee orientation & trainee orientation programs. Payroll sheet is
updated once in every year. SPPS (Staff Product Purchase Scheme) had its first ever
commencement this year at my presence. In this scheme, employees with at least
a complete year of tenure could purchase any products listed. And meeting was
held to understand the safeguards from unknown problems which met at any time

and at any place. They provide information regarding their rights and protection
from inappropriate activity.

2.1.2 Training Programme sheet: This is the responsibility to make


training program regarding their key work for reducing errors and inefficiency. In
this trainee name with their designation was described in a manner which could
understand easily and efficiently. Communication-2 training was held under trainer
Ms. Pragya Sharma who manages all the resources and also trained employees
regarding their key issues who faced in corporate and social environment.

2.1.3 Staff Product Purchase Scheme (SPPS):

This is an employee benefit program which started from this year, during my
internship period. In this, the staff members in order to fulfill the preliminary
requirements of those interested to sign up for the installment scheme. This
program was initiated by the HR Department and Employee Welfare Committee
for employees' benefit. SPPS is the best possible program for the employees who
wish to buy any product listed by Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. These
products include beauty products, Medical facilities, Medicines and beverages for
daily use with coupon up to rupees 5000/-.
This facility helps the employees to face the inappropriate problems. In this scheme
employees have so many benefits regarding their treatments and for self-
belonging.

2.1.4 Payroll Sheet:


This is a sheet is created at the end of the month of every year. In this, I made
payroll sheet in which (Name, Designation, Location) with their (Basic pay, HRA,
education allowance, special allowance, convenience, P.F, L.T.A, Bonus, Gratuity,)
etc. In this sheet, the complete salary structure is described in a proper manner by
using formula. In this P.F is calculated by taking a part of percentage from basic
salary up to 12%.
This payroll sheet is the proof in which salary is described in a proper manner. By
which employees can evaluate their actual salary and standard salary.
This Payroll sheet is updated as per requirement methods which can be changed
with the time and according to the organization requirements.

2.1.5 FLOW CHART: In this, I described the details of the employees with their
names, designation and with their location in where they are still working and
under which they are still working now. In 45 days of internship I made different
types of flow charts with their different types of key details with different products
and departments.
These flow charts help under which employee reports to whose employee with
their posts and Zone. I also made some different types of editing in the flow chart.
In this maple Faridabad flow chart is completely edited and new flow chart is made
out.
Other one is also made in which different departments with their products like
powder, Bhasma etc.

2.1.8 OUTCOME:

Based on my 45 days term as an intern, I realized that I was successful to gather a


lot of significant learning experiences which would be helpful in my future career.
The HR department of Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. offered me ample
space and opportunities, not only to learn but also to exhibit my skills as a HR team
member. My contributions were well recognized by the organization. I successfully
completed all the assigned duties and handed them over to the senior supervisor
at the end of the internship.
Payroll Data Sheet Update was completed successfully where I tried to update the
data to the best of my knowledge.
SPPS was also successfully conducted and the satisfied employees ordered more
products than anticipated to fulfill their requirements. They also looked forward
and requested for more of such schemes. As HRD is the department that connects
all the departments of any organization, I was introduced to many department
heads and seniors who gave me a wider spectrum of the organization. My
assistance to some of the presenters using slideshows and PowerPoint proved to
be a crucial support in many presentations. Flow chart was successfully done and
their information is shown as efficiently and effectively. Flow chart is that in which
details are shown by using hierarchical diagram.
Increment letters was made most effectively and efficiently. In this, the name of
the employee, Designation and their location is shown in the proper format. List of
trainee is that in which some employee name listed out to give them training about
their workplace and for their key work.

CONCLUSIONS:
These 45 days internship in HRM of Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. has
honed by understanding of HR in practice. It gave me an important exposure and
an insider look of such a big organization. I could use my theoretical knowledge of
HR in real practice while participating in many discussions. I was actively shared my
knowledge and views regarding the performance in HRD of Maharishi Ayurveda
Products Pvt. Ltd.
